A global positioning system (GPS) and Doppler augmentation (GDAUG) end receiver (GDER) can include a GDAUG module. The GDAUG module can generate a GDER position using a time of flight (TOF) of a transponded GPS signal and a Doppler shift in a GDAUG satellite (GSAT) signal. The transponded GPS signal sent from a GSAT to the GDER can include a frequency shifted copy of a GPS signal from a GPS satellite to the GSAT. The GSAT signal can include a signal generated by the GSAT to the GDER.

Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for determining a position. In some examples, the method includes determining measured time receipt differences from associated local receipt times for each pair of plurality of signals; determining a range difference for each of the plurality of signals based on the measured time receipt differences for each of the pairs of the plurality of signals; determining hypothesized range differences based on a hypothesized user position; determining an estimation difference for each of the plurality of signals based on the range difference and the hypothesized range difference for each of the plurality of signals based on a figure of merit; minimizing the estimation difference for the figure of merit based on a plurality of hypothesized user positions and an optimization routine; and outputting a user position based on a hypothesized user position associated with the minimized figure of merit.

Position determination using local time difference

Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for position determination. In some examples, the method includes receiving, by a device, position information from at least one other device. The method further includes modifying, by the device, an initial position based on the position information from the at least one other device to form a refined position. The method further includes transmitting, by the device, the refined position to the at least one other device. The method further includes revising, by the device, the refined position based on refined position information received from the at least one other device to form a final position.

Position optimization

Provided is a space object deployment system. Specifically, the system in at least one embodiment, includes at least one deployable object. A deployment chamber is paired with each deployable object, each chamber including: a base opposite from the deployable object; and a spring loaded countermass coupled to the base and slidably disposed within the chamber, the deployment chamber at least partially disposed within a rotatable body transverse to the axis of rotation. At least one coupler is paired to each deployable object and adapted to detachably couple the deployable object to the body and constrain the countermass within the chamber. An associated method of use is provided as well.

Space object deployment system and method

In one embodiment, a countermeasure system for protecting an asset from a missile attack includes a decoy comprising a plurality of quantum dots selected to emit radiation having a radiation emission profile similar to a profile of a radiation signature of the asset. In another embodiment, a method of simulating a radiation signature of an asset using quantum dots includes dispersing quantum dots to form a cloud of quantum dots; and exciting the quantum dots with a first radiation so that the quantum dots emit a second radiation having a profile similar to the radiation signature profile of the asset.

Countermeasure system and method using quantum dots

A high speed wide dynamic range variable rate power detector which provides an output signal linearly proportional to the input power level. The invention operates essentially independently of the system computer and provides a gain measurement system effective in the testing of an antenna in a frequency hopping mode. The illustrative embodiment includes a first subcircuit for down converting an RF input signal to a fixed intermediate frequency signal; a second subcircuit for converting the intermediate frequency signal to a DC signal; a third subcircuit for varying the rate of conversion of intermediate frequency signals to DC signals and a fourth subcircuit for providing an output signal which is proportional to the log of the DC signal.
