A method for treating a spine, the method comprising the steps of: imaging a patient anatomy for registration of anatomical image data and positional tracking of the patient anatomy; selecting an implant strategy for at least one bone fastener; selecting a manipulation strategy for the patient anatomy; determining a post-correction orientation of the patient anatomy according to the implant strategy and the manipulation strategy; imaging the post-correction orientation of the patient anatomy; engaging the at least one bone fastener with vertebral tissue of the patient anatomy according to the implant strategy; and connecting a first implant support to the at least one bone fastener, the first implant support including an adaptor that is movable relative to the first implant support to releasably engage a surgical instrument to distract and/or compress the vertebral tissue according to the manipulation strategy. Surgical instruments, constructs and implants are disclosed.

Surgical system and method

A bone material dispensing system is provided. The bone material dispensing system comprises a funnel having a proximal portion, the proximal portion comprising a top end and a bottom end, the top end opposite the bottom end, the top end comprising a surface having a protrusion configured to receive a locking member of a bone material dispensing device and the bottom end comprising a connector configured to secure the funnel to the bone material dispensing device. A bone material dispensing system comprises a pusher and a holder is provided. A method of dispensing bone material with the bone material dispensing system is also provided.

Bone material dispensing system and methods of use

Various bone cement guides are disclosed that may connect directly to a fenestrated bone screw or connect to a spinal construct that is coupled to a fenestrated bone screw. In various embodiments, cement guides may include a three-part assembly including a hollow outer sleeve and a hollow inner sleeve with a removable inner rod. In various embodiments, the hollow inner sleeve may be movable between a retracted position and an extended position and in the extended position a distal end of the inner sleeve may splay outward and capture the head portion of a fenestrated bone screw. In other embodiments, a distal end of the outer sleeve may surround and capture tabs of an extended tulip head connector while the inner sleeve couples to an inside surface of the extended tulip head connector.

A bone material dispensing device is provided. The bone material dispensing device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis, the proximal end having a first opening and the distal end comprising a frame having a front wall, a back wall, and an air gap, the back wall having a back opening and the front wall having a second opening such that the first opening, the back opening and the second opening are configured to slidably receive at least a portion of a plunger, the front wall comprising a generally flat contact surface configured to engage a funnel; and a locking member pivotably connected to an upper surface of the housing and extending adjacent to the upper surface of the housing, the locking member comprising a locking surface extending adjacent to the distal end of the housing, the locking member being movable in a locking position to lock the portion of the funnel with the housing. A bone material dispensing system and a method of implanting bone material with the bone material dispensing system are also provided.

A surgical system includes a sleeve defining a passageway. An adapter is removably coupled to the sleeve. The adapter defines a channel. A delivery device includes a distal end positioned in a channel of the adapter. A bone fastener includes a head and a shank defining a cannula. A distal portion of the adapter is positioned in the shank such that the channel is in communication with a cannula of the shank. A plunger is movably disposed in a lumen of the delivery device. The plunger is configured to move a material through the lumen and the channel and into the cannula. Methods and kits are disclosed.

A bone material dispensing system is provided. The bone material dispensing system comprises a loading device having a perimeter surrounding a base plane and a rim, the perimeter comprising a side wall extending along a longitudinal axis and a bar joining the side wall at a corner of the perimeter and extending in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis, the base plane comprising a loading surface bordered by the side wall along the longitudinal axis, the loading surface having an end edge extending in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis such that the side wall, the bar and the end edge form a rim adjacent to the loading surface and the bar. A method of loading bone material with the bone material dispensing system is also provided.

A surgical instrument comprises a first member including a drive engageable with a first mating surface of a bone fastener. A second member is rotatable relative to the first member and includes an engagement element connectable with a second mating surface of the bone fastener. A part is disposed with the first member and being alternately connectable with an actuator and an adaptor attachable with an image guide. Systems, surgical adaptors, spinal implants and methods are disclosed.

Surgical implant system and method

A delivery system includes a first instrument having an outer sleeve defining a passageway. The first instrument includes an inner sleeve having a first end disposed in the passageway and a second end including a first mating element. The inner sleeve defines a channel. A second instrument includes a hollow shaft disposed in the channel and a handle coupled to the shaft. The handle includes a body and a second mating element extending from the body. The second mating element is configured to engage the first mating element to secure the second instrument to the first instrument. Methods are disclosed.

Spinal implant system and method

A surgical instrument comprises a first portion defining a cavity configured for disposal of a first implant support member. A second portion defines at least one passageway aligned with the cavity and including a guide engageable with a second implant support member to orient the second implant support member with the at least one passageway such that the second implant support member is connectable with the first implant support member. Systems, spinal constructs, spinal implants and methods are disclosed.

A surgical instrument comprises a first member including a drive engageable with a first mating surface of a bone fastener. A second member is rotatable relative to the first member and includes an element engageable with a second mating surface of the bone fastener. The members are engageable with the bone fastener in a release configuration, an intermediate configuration and a locked configuration. Systems, surgical adaptors, spinal implants and methods are disclosed.

A surgical instrument adaptor comprises a member including a first mating surface that is removably attachable with a surgical instrument and a second mating surface that is connectable with an actuator. An image guide is attachable with the member and oriented relative to a sensor to communicate a signal representative of a position of the surgical instrument. Systems, surgical instruments, spinal implants and methods are disclosed.

A surgical system including a combination instrument for breaking of tabs of a reduction connector and providing a counter torque for a driver is disclosed. The combination instrument may have an elongated rigid structure and include an internal shaft and a magazine portion configured to store at least one tab of a reduction connector. The combination instrument may further include a cut-out portion configured to retain the at least one tab within the magazine portion. In some embodiments, the driver may be configured to be inserted into the internal shaft of the combination instrument. In some embodiments, the driver is rotatable within the internal shaft of the combination instrument and configured to drive a set screw within the reduction connector. Disclosed drivers may be manual drivers or powered drivers. Some embodiments, may include a collar or a cap from which the broken off tabs may be ejected.

An implant support cap comprises a wall defining a cavity and at least one longitudinal passageway. The wall includes a guide engageable with an implant support member to orient the implant support member with the at least one passageway such that the implant support member is connectable with the wall. Systems, surgical instruments, spinal constructs, implants and methods are disclosed.
