A conduit assembly provides a thermal break about an opening in an insulated panel. An elongate conduit extends through an opening in the panel. The conduit has an interior for passage of wires and an exterior. An electrical enclosure is mounted to one end of the conduit on one side of the panel. The conduit and the box being in communication for passage of the wires into the enclosure. A panel seal is provided for sealing the opening in the panel about the conduit.

A reinforced cable tie generally includes an elongate strap, a head attached to a first end of the strap and a continuous fiber reinforcement disposed in and extending substantially continuously along a path defining at least one of the strap and the head. The head has one or more apertures formed therein and a locking device disposed in the aperture of the head. The locking device is configured to permit a second end of the strap opposite the head to be inserted through the head aperture in a first direction and is further configured to prevent movement of the second end of the strap from the head aperture in a second direction opposite the first direction.

High strength cable tie

Self-healing polymers used to fabricate electrical devices or to coat electrical devices that have a metal or polymer substrate. The self-healing polymers can be made from modified polymers including polyurethanes, polyureas, polyamides and polyesters and, optionally, cross-linking agents and one or more catalysts. The self-healing polymers can be used to make cable ties, tape, conduit fittings and explosion-proof sealant materials.

Electrical devices and components used in electrical systems made with self-healing materials

A poke-through device for installation in a hole in a floor structure, the floor structure defining a floor in a first working environment and a ceiling in a second working environment, the hole communicating between the first and second working environments, the poke through device. The poke-through device includes a body defining an interior and having an upper end and a lower end. A mounting frame is adapted to secure an electrical device within the body. A first intumescent member is disposed at the body upper end, and an electrical box is secured to the body lower end. A fire resistant gasket is disposed between the electrical box and the body lower end. The gasket includes openings therein to permit passage of wiring between the electrical box and the body.

Poke-through device

A poke-through device for installation in a hole in a floor structure, the poke-through device including a body defining an interior. The body including a length bounded by an upper end and a lower end, the body including a central axis extending along its length. A mounting frame including a pair of opposed end lobes separated by at least one divider. One of the pair of lobes has a first electrical device mounting surface and the other of the pair of lobes including a second electrical device mounting surface. The first and second electrical mounting surfaces are angled toward the central axis. The first and second electrical device mounting surfaces each including an opening adapted to receive therein an electrical device. A first intumescent member is disposed at the body upper end, and an electrical box is secured to the body lower end. A fire resistant gasket is disposed between the electrical box and the body lower end. The gasket includes openings therein to permit passage of wiring between the electrical box and the body.

A corrosion resistant conduit system that protects against corrosion and against electrical shortage. The corrosion resistant conduit system includes: a multilayer conduit having a metal layer disposed between two polymeric layers, a conduit fitting having an electrically conductive component and a body having one or more layers of polymeric material, and means for conductively coupling the metallic layer of the multilayer tube to the electrically conductive component of the fitting, which provides a continuous electrical path throughout the corrosion resistant conduit system.

Corrosion resistant electrical conduit system

A cable hanger is disclosed. The cable hanger may include a first latch configured to suspend the cable hanger from a strut and a second latch configured to suspend the cable hanger from the strut. The cable hanger may also include a cable saddle to hold one or more cables. When the cable hanger is suspended by the first latch and not the second latch, a gap may be formed between the cable saddle and the strut such that the cable saddle is configured to receive the one or more cables through the gap. When the cable hanger is suspended by the second latch, the gap may be closed between the cable saddle and the strut to secure the one or more cables.

The disclosed invention provides a conduit sleeve with detachable end cap that greatly reduces the complexity of the current system that requires a multiplicity of integral sleeve conduit bodies, styles, fixtures, fittings, connectors, rigid conduits with female threading, and other receiving structures. Now, one conduit sleeve with detachable end cap can be used to protect a threaded conduit end without the need for specialty receiving structures having an integral sleeve. This is accomplished by having a single object performing both roles as conduit sleeve and end cap. The end cap portion can simply be cut or twisted off from the conduit sleeve portion at a convenient time after installation onto a rigid conduit, tube, pipe, or similar structure. The remaining conduit sleeve that is left protects the area of the rigid conduit where conduit threads would have been left exposed since they are not fully threaded into the receiving structure. In addition, the conduit sleeve may be flexible in construction, which is desirable if the rigid conduit is bent, such as along a transition area of a wall.

A cable tie includes a cable tie head that comprises a head portion. The cable tie also includes a cable tie body. The cable tie body comprises a main body that includes a body passageway; and a strap, wherein the cable tie head is attachable to and detachable from the cable tie body, and wherein the body passageway is formed to receive the legs for coupling the cable tie head with the cable tie body. The cable tie head is made from a different material than the cable head body.

A device includes a device body that further includes a first attachment mechanism for attaching to another object, structure, or item of equipment. The device also includes wireless communication circuitry affixed to the device body, and one or more sensor components affixed to the device body, coupled to the wireless communication circuitry, and configured to sense environmental parameters associated with the device or with the object, structure or item of equipment. The device may further include powering circuitry, affixed to the device body, and configured to provide electrical power to the wireless communication circuitry and/or the one or more sensor components. The device may include a lug, connector or terminal.

Smart lug system

A while-in-use electrical box including a housing having a front wall, a back wall, a top wall, a bottom wall and two opposed side walls. The housing has a longitudinal axis extending along the length of the box between the two side walls. The housing has a transverse axis extending from the back wall to the front wall. A device plate is disposed within the housing dividing the housing into a first section and a second section. The first section of the housing is enclosed and adapted to house an electrical device and the second section forms an electrical device access area. The device plate has a first panel forming a face plate for receiving a face of the electrical device. The second section is spaced from the first section along the longitudinal axis, and the face plate is in a non-parallel, non- perpendicular alignment with the housing transverse axis.

Low profile while-in-use electrical box and cover

A cable tie includes a band having a first end and a second end a housing, affixed to the band near the second end, with a first opening to receive the first end of the band. The housing comprises a first mass near the first opening and one side of the housing, a stop mass near a second side of the housing, and a second mass between the first mass and the stop mass. When the first end is inserted into the housing, the second mass prevents the first mass from moving a first distance occupied by the second mass, toward the stop mass. When the first end in the housing is being pulled out of the housing, the first mass locks the first end in the housing and prevents the first end from slipping over a second distance.

An electrical box includes a back wall and a front wall, configured to be essentially parallel to a mounting surface when the base is installed to the mounting surface, and a pair of interchangeable top and bottom walls. Each interchangeable top and bottom wall is connected to the back wall and the front wall. The electrical box includes a side wall connected to each of the other walls and an open end opposite the side wall that is configured to receive an electrical device therein. A standoff extends laterally from the back wall. The standoff is configured to provide a mounting structure and to position the electrical box away from the mounting surface. The electrical box is configured to receive a top-mounted hood to cover the open end when the base is installed with the open end positioned to face either of the right side or the left side.

A poke-through device includes a tubular main body sized for insertion into a hole formed through a concrete floor. A device frame is mounted in the tubular main body for mounting one or more electrical devices. An intumescent insert is mounted in the tubular main body below the device frame. A junction box assembly is mounted to a bottom end of the tubular main body. A cover assembly is configured to enclose an opening in a top end of the tubular main body. The intumescent insert is mounted in the tubular main body so as to not contact the device frame to allow intumescent material to flow around the device frame in the event of a fire.
