A fuel tank made of plastic, in the interior of which an insert () is located, wherein the insert should enclose a space (), wherein the fuel tank should offer the greatest possible economy of space, and the fuel tank and the insert should have a simple form. For this purpose, a box made of plastic and open at the top is attached to the inside of the upper wall () of the fuel tank as an insert (), wherein the box forms a closed space () together with the wall () of the tank, wherein the insert () comprises a bottom () and side walls (), the upper edges of which are connected in a bonded manner to the wall () of the tank. The insert () contains inner parts (-) that are integral therewith and has at least one fitting (-) on the side walls () for connecting a pipe line.

Fuel tank having a built-in auxiliary tank

A fuel tank that is composed of plastic and that has installations. In order to functionally improve the fuel tank and to simplify the manufacturing, a shaped piece () is attached to the inside of the wall () of the fuel tank and connected to the fuel tank in a bonded manner. The shaped piece () is a flat component that has an open three-dimensional shape and forms at least one channel () and/or tank together with the plastic shell (). The shaped piece () is welded all around to the plastic shell (), wherein a welding flange () forming a closed curve follows the contour of the channel (). The shaped piece () has at least one mouth part () that is open toward the tank interior and is integral with the shaped piece.
