A kit including a packaging and an injection device is described. The injection device defines a positioning recess. The packaging includes a channel extending longitudinally to accommodate the injection device. The channel includes a first longitudinal wall, a second longitudinal wall opposing the first longitudinal wall, and a base wall extending between the first longitudinal wall and the second longitudinal wall. The packaging also includes a first handling recess defined by the first longitudinal wall and a second handling recess defined by the second longitudinal wall. The packaging also includes a positioning rib protruding from the base wall into the channel for insertion into the positioning recess of the injection device.

The present invention concerns a drive mechanism for a drug delivery device comprising a housing having a longitudinal axis, a first feedback element which is movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the housing and a second feedback element, wherein the first feedback element and the second feedback element are adapted to interact with each other thereby providing at least one of tactile and audible feedback during at least one of a dose setting and dose dispensing operation of the drive mechanism. Moreover a drug delivery device incorporating such a drive mechanism is disclosed.

A pen-type drug injection device is disclosed which comprises a housing having a longitudinal axis, a threaded piston rod, a guide member for guiding the piston rod in a drug dispense operation, and a cartridge holder for receiving a cartridge, wherein the cartridge holder is detachable from the housing and wherein the guide member comprises an iris type aperture defined by a plurality of threaded pivotable segments. The drug delivery device is configured such that the aperture increases in diameter when the cartridge holder is being detached from the housing, such that the piston rod is free of the threaded engagement with the guide member and can be reset or pushed back to its initial position, and decreases in diameter when the cartridge holder is attached, such that the threads on segments reengage the piston rod.

A medication delivery device is provided which is switchable between an operational state and a resetting state and which comprises a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, a piston rod being moveable in a distal direction with respect to the housing for medication delivery, a conversion element adapted to at least partially convert a rotational movement of the piston rod into an axial movement of the piston rod, coupling means prevented from rotational movement with respect to the housing and adapted to engage with the conversion element in the operational state, a drive assembly comprising at least two drive assembly members and adapted for moving the piston rod in the distal direction, and a resilient member adapted to provide a force on the drive assembly for engagement of the drive assembly members. In the operational state of the device the coupling means is engaged with the conversion element, the conversion element thereby being prevented from rotation with respect to the housing. In the resetting state of the device the coupling means is disengaged from the conversion element under force of the resilient member, the conversion element thereby being allowed to rotate with respect to the housing and thereby allowing a resetting of the device.

A drive assembly for a drug delivery device comprises a rotation member being configured to be rotated in a first direction during setting of a dose of a drug and to be rotated in a second direction during delivery of the dose, a drive component being configured to follow rotational movement of the rotation member in the second direction during delivery of the dose and a stop member being configured to prevent rotational movement of the drive component in the first direction. The drive component comprises a first drive part and a second drive part, coupled to each other such that relative rotational movement of the first and second drive parts is prevented and relative axial movement is permitted.

The drive mechanism for a drug delivery device comprises a piston rod, which is displaced in a distal direction for a delivery of a dose and in a proximal direction for a reset, and a resilient member, which acts on the piston rod during a reset and tends to restrict the movement of the piston rod in the proximal direction. The resilient member may be a biasing member provided for an automatic reset, a compression spring entering the piston rod or a torsion spring provided to generate a rotation. The drug delivery device is provided with such a drive mechanism.
