Systems and methods for the preferential selection or blocking of Internet Protocol (IP) version addresses, e.g., IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, are provided. During a process where address or domain name resolution is performed, an entity may access a domain bypass list to ascertain whether or not to proceed with requests utilizing an IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, or neither. Such a list may be dynamically or manually created and/or updated such that known issues associated with the use of a particular type of IP version address can be avoided for subsequent resolution requests to access network resources such as web pages, DNS entries, etc.

Preferential selection of IP protocol version with domain name matching on proxy servers

Systems and methods for source address transparency in a communication network include a proxy server and an IP gateway in which the proxy server receives a traffic flow from an end-user device and determines a source address for the detected traffic flow; the proxy server further creates a virtual interface corresponding to the end-user device from which the traffic flow was received and uses the virtual interface for that end-user device to exchange data between the end-user device and a designated web server. The virtual interface sends the traffic flow to the designated web server using the source address that is the same as or a variant of the source address for the end-user device from which the traffic flow was received.

Source IP address transparency systems and methods

A system for directing an antenna for transmission over a two-way satellite network is disclosed. A transceiver is coupled to the antenna; the transceiver transmits and receives signals over the two-way satellite network. A user terminal is coupled to the transceiver and executes an antenna pointing program. The program instructs a user to initially point the antenna to a beacon satellite using predefined pointing values based upon the location of the antenna. The program receives new antenna pointing parameters that are downloaded from a hub over a temporary channel that is established via the beacon satellite. The program displays the new antenna pointing parameters and instructs the user to selectively re-point the antenna based upon the downloaded new antenna pointing parameters.
