A process for hydrosilation reactions between olefins and hydrosilanes or hydrosiloxanes wherein a portion of the reactor output is recycled continuously to the reactor.

Hydrosilation reaction process with recycle

Sulfur-containing organosilicon compounds useful as coupling agents in vulcanizable rubbers to enhance various properties, including low rolling resistance for automobile tires, are prepared. Preferred compounds include .OMEGA., .OMEGA.'-bis (trialkoxysilylalkyl) polysulfides. In one embodiment, the reaction product of ethanolic sodium ethoxide and elemental sulfur is reacted with chloropropyltriethoxysilane. Alternatively, sodium metal is reacted with a mixture of ethanol and elemental sulfur, and then chloropropyltriethoxysilane. The use of sodium metal alcoholates provides an efficient and economical process.

Process for the preparation of silane polysulfides

A method for preparing chloroalkylalkoxysilanes by reacting an allylic chloride with a small molar excess of a hydromethoxysilane in the presence of a ruthenium catalyst and preferably in the substantial absence of an inert solvent.

Process for making chloroorganosilicon compounds

A method is described for the preparation of an isocyanatoorganosilane by an elevated temperature thermally induced decomposition of a carbamatoorganosilane in the gas phase preferably under ambient or reduced pressure.
