System and methods for detecting anode contamination in a fuel cell system are presented. In certain embodiments, a high frequency resistance response of a fuel cell system may be measured at a plurality of frequencies. In some embodiments, the rate of change of high frequency resistance response over time may differ at varied frequencies based on an amount of anode contamination in the fuel cell system. Accordingly, systems and methods disclosed herein may compare high frequency resistance responses taken at a plurality of measured frequencies to detect anode contamination and initiate associated recovery procedures in the fuel cell system.

Systems and methods for detecting anode contamination in a fuel cell system

Systems and methods for improving conditions for anion contaminant removal in a cathode of a PEMFC system are presented. A fuel cell system consistent with certain embodiments may include a cathode compartment having a compressor coupled thereto. The compressor may be configured to receive an input cathode gas via a compressor input and supply the input cathode gas to the cathode compartment via a compressor output. The fuel cell system may further include a cathode gas recirculation value coupled to the cathode compartment configured to receive a cathode exhaust gas output and to selectively provide at least a portion of the cathode exhaust gas output to the compressor input. Consistent with certain embodiments disclosed herein, the compressor may be further configured to supply at least a portion of the cathode exhaust gas output to the cathode compartment via the compressor output.

Systems and methods for controlling oxygen concentration in a cathode of a fuel cell system

An apparatus includes structure defining a first hole that is characterized by an opening. A protuberance surrounds the opening and at least partially defines a concavity. A retention member is disposed within the concavity, and defines a second hole. The second hole has a first portion characterized by a first diameter and a second portion characterized by a second diameter. A threaded fastener has a flange characterized by a third diameter greater than the first diameter and less than the second diameter. The flange is disposed within the second portion of the second hole and between the first portion of the retention member hole and the first surface. Accordingly, the retention member retains the fastener in the concavity while permitting radial movement of the fastener.

A power electronics module includes an electronics module and a connector housing. The electronics module includes at least one interface section having at least one conductive surface. At least one connector is configured for attachment to the electronics module to establish electrical communication between the connector and the electronics module. The connector includes a connector housing, an insulative housing, a terminal and a biasing device. The insulative housing is supported by the connector housing. The terminal is configured to transmit electrical current to the conductive surface of the electronics module. The biasing device is configured to bias the terminal in a first direction to establish electrical contact with the conductive surface and the conductive surface biases the terminal in a second direction, opposite the first direction.
