A cap and container assembly includes a container having a base and a side wall extending upward from the base. The base and the side wall define an interior, and the side wall defines an opening leading to the interior. A cap moves with respect to the container between an opened position in which the opening is exposed, and a closed position in which the cap covers the opening. A tab projects outward from the cap and has a bottom surface. A spacer projects from the container side wall at a location beneath the tab when the assembly is in the closed position. The spacer bends inward towards the container in response to application of a sufficient force, to move from a locked position that blocks the bottom surface of the tab, to an unlocked position to expose at least a portion of the bottom surface of the tab.

Cap and container assemblies

A sample collection system includes a vial and a collection stick. The collection stick includes an elongated handle portion and an absorbent head portion detachably connected to the handle portion. The absorbent head portion is configured to absorb and retain the fluid sample therein prior to insertion of the collection stick within the vial. During the sample collection process, the collection stick is inserted into the vial to express the fluid sample from the absorbent head portion into the vial. The absorbent head portion is retained within the vial in a generally compressed state with the handle portion being detached and removed from the vial.

Sample collection system and method

A container for collecting and storing breast milk. More particularly, one embodiment provides a container for collecting and storing breast milk obtained using a breast pump, comprising: a body, wherein the body has an open end with a lip, a closed end and a cavity between the open end and the closed end for receiving therein the breast milk; a cap; a hinge disposed adjacent the open end of the body for connecting the cap to the body; a sealing mechanism disposed on the cap, wherein the sealing mechanism provides a resealable, watertight seal between the cap and the lip of the body when the cap is placed thereon; and at least one thread disposed at the open end of the body, wherein the thread is configured to provide a screw-on connection between the body and the breast pump.
