A steering column lock assembly and a method of operating the same, the steering column lock assembly including a steering column having a gear portion and a rotatable shaft; an actuator operably attached to the steering column, the actuator being free to translate with respect to the steering column; and a lever arm operably attached to the steering column; wherein translation of the actuator engages the lever arm with the gear portion to lock the steering column.

A cam for locating and holding a windshield in an automobile during installation and cure includes a body having a bore in the bottom providing a journal for guiding rotation of the body in an arc around the bore. A lever arm projects from one side of the body. A nose projects from the opposite side of the body. A cam surface on the nose includes a ramped portion sloped outwardly and downwardly, having a planar section and an arcuate section.

Windshield locating cam

A removable detent mechanism to be utilized with a vehicle door hinge assembly for providing a temporary door check mechanism during painting of the vehicle body and door assembly. The detent mechanism is positioned between the door hinge pin and the vehicle hinge bracket. An interference lobe formed on the detent mechanism is engageable with a portion of the door hinge bracket to generate a detent force during the opening and closing of the door assembly relative to the vehicle body. The removable detent mechanism is provided with local stiffness features which enable adjustment of the detent force.
