A computer-implemented tool for developing electric or hybrid electric vehicle electrical components systems. Embodiments comprise a database component, a user interface component, and a processing component. The database component may store drive train components information associated with each of a plurality of drive train components, and accessory components information associated with each of a plurality of accessory components. The user interface component may be configured to enable a user to select, display and interconnect icons representing one or more of the drive train components and one or more of the accessory components as an electrical components system, to input vehicle parameters, and to display computed specification analyses. The processing component may be coupled to the database component and the user interface component, and configured to compute specification analyses for the electrical components system based on the associated drive train components information, accessory components information and the vehicle parameters.

The injector includes a first alignment feature having a first geometry corresponding to a first engagement feature of the first engine platform and adapted to be engaged by the first engagement feature to secure the injector to the first engine platform. The fuel injector further includes a second alignment feature having a second geometry different from, and incompatible with, the first geometry and corresponding to a second engagement feature of the second engine platform thereby ensuring the fuel injector is circumferentially oriented in a correct rotative position required by a given engine platform.

A method and system for controlling the temperature of an engine system is disclosed. The method and system comprise measuring a coolant temperature of the engine system; measuring noise factors of the engine system; and controlling components of the engine system to provide for an optimal operation of the engine based upon the measured temperature and measured noise factors. Accordingly, a system and method in accordance with the present invention combines measuring noise factors such as coolant pressure or coolant concentration and the temperature and then adjusting the threshold values for factors such as fan on temperature and engine protection derate. In so doing the coolant temperature can be controlled within an acceptable range of values.
