An idler pulley wheel arrangement for a bandsaw includes a non-rotating idler shaft and an idler pulley wheel assembly positioned on the shaft for rotation relative thereto. A latch mechanism is positioned on an end of the shaft and includes a latch part connected to the end of the shaft for movement between a first position defining a latching state of the mechanism in which a portion of the latch part extends beyond an outer surface of the shaft and a second position defining a non-latching state of the mechanism in which the latch part is positioned entirely within or in substantial alignment with the outer surface of the shaft. The latch mechanism also includes a catch positioned on the end of the shaft for holding the latch part in the non-latching state such that the idler pulley wheel assembly can be slid off the end of the shaft when the latch mechanism is in the non-latching state.

Removable pulley wheel arrangement and associated band saw apparatus

A foot actuated pneumatic switch for use in association with food-equipment such as mixer-grinders. The switch includes a u-shaped compressible pedal and a hemispherically shaped rubber actuator. The operator applies pressure to the pedal thereby depressing the actuator and initiating operation of the equipment. The pedal operates by means of a spring-like operation which enables the pedal to return to its static position when the pressure on the pedal is removed.

A guide assembly includes a sleeve-shaped member having first and second ends. At least one insert member is positioned within one of the ends of said sleeve-shaped member, the insert member including an end-to-end channel. A guide bar extends through the sleeve-shaped member and along the end-to-end channel of the insert member. A first end of the guide bar extends from the first end of the sleeve-shaped member and a second end of the guide bar extends from the second end of the sleeve-shaped member. A second insert member positioned in the other end of the sleeve-shaped member may also be provided.

A meat contacting outer surface portion of the elongated stainless steel member is coated in tin for reducing build up of fat on the meat contacting outer surface portion during operation.

A guide assembly for receiving a guide bar of a band saw, includes a sleeve-shaped member having first and second ends. A first insert member is positioned within the sleeve-shaped member. An outer peripheral surface portion of the insert member forms a first guide bar receiving channel with an inner peripheral surface portion of the sleeve-shaped member. A second insert member may also be provided to form a second guide bar receiving channel which aligns with the first guide bar receiving channel. Said insert members may also include at least one exposed end having a peripheral lip which overlaps the respective end of the sleeve-shaped member.

A food mixer having a planetary gear system. The mixer comprises a vertically extending stand housing an electric motor, a base to support the stand, an overhang arm connected to the stand, and a gear system housed in the overhang arm. The gear system includes a center shaft having a center gear mounted thereto, the center shaft being drivingly coupled to the motor and rotatable about its axis. The gear system further includes an agitator shaft having an agitator gear mounted on an end thereto, the agitator shaft being oriented generally parallel to the center shaft and located such that the agitator gear meshes with the center gear. The gear further includes a ring gear having a set of internal gear teeth, the ring gear encircling the center gear and the agitator gear whereby the agitator gear meshes with the ring gear. The gear additionally has a pair of agitator bearings located on the agitator shaft and a top bearing located on the center shaft, the top bearing being vertically displaced from and radially overlapping the pair of agitator bearings. The gear further comprises a needle bearing located near the bottom of the center shaft, whereby when the motor powers the center shaft the agitator shaft rotates and orbits about the center shaft, and wherein the needle bearing and the misaligned top bearing allow the center shaft and the agitator shaft to be placed in close proximity.

A mixing machine comprising a housing having an upper portion and a lower portion, an attachment drive head extending downwardly from the upper portion of the housing, an attachment drive including an attachment drive shaft, the shaft being capable of driving a detachable mixing attachment, an adjustable drive train linked to the attachment drive for driving the attachment drive shaft, a motor mounted in the housing for driving the drive train, a shift lever assembly including a shift lever wherein movement of the shift lever adjusts the length of the adjustable drive train and thereby changes the speed of the attachment drive, and a mechanism mounted on the housing to prevent the shift lever from vibrating out of position during a mixing operation and to prevent a change in speed of the mixing machine.

Mixing machine

The invention is a sharpener for a knife of a food slicer. The sharpener includes a base assembly and a sharpener assembly. The base assembly includes a lever mounted thereto on a pivot; the lever carrying a cam member which extends therefrom. The sharpener assembly includes a housing and a longitudinal cavity, a sharpening wheel mounted for rotation on an axle which reciprocates lengthwise in the cavity, a compression spring positioned in the cavity at the base of the axle, and an actuator which reciprocates in the cavity portion on the side of the spring opposite the axle. Upon moving the lever about its pivot, the cam contacts the actuator and moves the actuator in the direction of the axle and compresses the spring. The spring moves the plunger lengthwise within the cavity and urges the sharpening wheel against the knife.

Sharpening device for food slicer

The invention is a lock for the bowl support of a food mixing machine. After the bowl is raised into the mixing position, the lock ensures that the bowl maintains its position and is not subject to creep. The mixing machine comprises a mixing head, a mixing bowl support for supporting a mixing bowl under the mixing head, a gear train for moving the bowl support and mixing bowl into position beneath the mixing head, and a lock which engages the gear train to prevent the bowl support from moving out of position beneath the mixing head during mixing. The lock is preferably a pawl which engages one of the gears in the gear train, preventing the bowl and the bowl support from moving out of position.
