This disclosure provides systems and methods for processing packets. A system can include first computing device, a second computing device, and a first packet forwarding device. Each of the first computing device and the second computing device can be communicatively coupled to a respective port of the first packet forwarding device. Each port of the first packet forwarding device can be assigned a unique MAC address. For a first packet received from the first computing device, the first packet forwarding device can be configured to determine that a destination MAC address of the first packet matches the MAC address assigned to the port on which the first packet was received, and to forward the first packet to the second computing device, responsive to the determination. For a second packet received from the second computing device, the first packet forwarding device can be configured to forward the second packet via the port whose MAC address matches a source MAC address of the second packet.

Systems and methods for processing packets in a computer network

The methods and systems described herein provide a mechanism to externalize network functions through a direct link between a network switch and an external packet processor. The network switch is configured to receive a packet directed to a destination node via a first network interface. The network switch is also configured to forward the received packet to a packet processor, via a second network interface, over a direct physical link between the network switch and the packet processor. The packet is forwarded with an identifier for a virtualized network function executing on the packet processor and a destination MAC address of the packet is different from a MAC address of the packet processor.

Systems and methods for externalizing network functions via packet trunking

A method of controlling the sharing of data between entities that are in electronic communication with each other may include generating an authentication credential comprising an identifier for the target service and a unique signature, attenuating the authentication credential, and determining whether a client device is authorized to access the target service, and, only if so, providing the authentication credential to the client device. In an embodiment, the method may include receiving an access request from the client device, identifying that the authentication credential includes the unique signature and a third party caveat that is associated with a third party authentication service, in response to the identifying, determining whether the request also comprises a discharge credential for the third party caveat, and if the request includes the discharge credential, providing the client device with the requested service, otherwise denying the request.

Methods and systems of generating and using authentication credentials for decentralized authorization in the cloud

The invention allows access to the Internet by two-way mobile communication devices capable of wireless communication via a link server. Despite limited computing resources in the mobile devices, the invention allows the mobile devices to interact with Internet entities using a control engine in the link server and an interface engine in the mobile devices. The control engine utilizes the computing resources of the link server and handles tasks requiring considerable computing resources, such as processing of URL requests, interpreting markup language files, managing a data cache and variable states. Working with a message processor in the link server, the control engine communicates with an interface engine using a compact data format that is efficiently transportable in the wireless data network. The interface engine typically performs tasks that do not require considerable computing resources, such as receiving input from users and rendering data received from the link server.

Method and architecture for interactive two-way communication devices to interact with a network

A system configured to manage and process service requests within a data network. The system comprises a link server device that is configured to receive a service request from an interactive communication device, wherein the link server device attaches link server information to the service request indicating the operational capabilities of the link server device. A server device configured to receive the service request from the link server device and supply a service request response based upon information in the service request and the link server information. Wherein the link server executes a service command upon receipt of the service request response and supplies a status response to the interactive communication device.

Centralized service management system for two-way interactive communication devices in data networks

The present invention is particularly applicable to navigation of Internet by two-way interactive communication mobile devices that are capable of wireless communication via a link server with service providers or network servers on the Internet. Despite the limited computing resources in mobile devices that make it economically and technically impractical for the mobile devices to operate a local browser functioning as if it was in a desktop computer, the present invention allows the mobile devices to interact effectively with the Internet using a control engine operating in the link server and an interface engine operating in the mobile devices. The control engine, which utilizes the computing resources of the link server device, is responsible for tasks that require considerable computing power and memory, such as processing of URL requests, interpretation of markup language files, management of data cache and variable states. Further, working with a message processor in the server device, the control engine communicates with an interface engine using a compact data format that is efficiently transportable in the wireless data network. The interface engine typically performs tasks that do not require considerable computing power and memory, such as receiving input data from users, and the rendering of the compact data format received from the link server device, to cause the mobile device to display contents in the markup language files on a display screen.

To accept, store, and use dynamic information within a markup language, a markup language variable system is introduced. The markup language variable system allows variable scopes to be created within markup language user agents. Variables can then be assigned using static variable assignment via markup language tags or dynamic variable assignment via user requests. Variables can be used within markup language displays or within addresses such as Uniform Resource Locators (URLs). Automatic escaping ensures that variables are correctly modified for use within certain contexts such as URLs.
