The present invention provides for a fitted wedge wherein a formed outer frame is loosely fitted into a desired gap. The formed outer frame contains a lateral gap such that the formed outer frame is substantially or completely divided into two halves. A thin, stiff sheet coated with a resin saturated felt is then inserted between the two halves of the outer frame. The two halves are pushed apart, snuggly fitting the formed outer frame into place. The resin in the felt is then cured, forming a single, snuggly fit wedge.

Adjustable fit wedges

A heat tack application involves arranging an adhesive between a strand of conductive material and a strand of insulation material; applying a temperature of about 100-300&#xb0; C. and a pressure of about 5-100 psi for about 5-120 seconds to tack the adhesive. A stack can thereby be formed, and a plurality of stacks assembled to form a nascent rotor coil that is subsequently arranged in a rotor slot. An applied temperature of about 100-500&#xb0; C. and a pressure of about 100-1,500 psi can fully cure the adhesive after the coil is arranged within the rotor slot. Depending on the context of use, the conductive material may more generally be a first component, and the insulation material may more generally be a second component.

Heat tack application for use with the manufacture generator rotor coils and other components

A rotary printing press transfer cylinder has two or more axially spaced apart discs of a given diameter, each disc having an open minor segment with inwardly disposed edges and a concentric, shaft receiving hub to support the discs for rotation. A flexible plastic sheet, with flanges bent to fit within the inwardly disposed edges, covers the discs to provide a cylindrical shape, and is held under tension by attaching members connected to the flanges. A cushioning, ink repellent jacket is attached over the flexible plastic sheet.

Method and apparatus for transferring printed sheets

A molded rotor block, as well as other molded articles of manufacture, are made from a resin material selected from the group consisting of epoxy thermosets, polyester thermosets, phenolic, and melamine; and a reinforcement material selected from the group consisting of glass and mineral filler. The article of manufacture is adapted to withstand temperatures that range from about &minus;40&deg; C. to about 180&deg; C.&minus;40&deg; C. and to withstand centrifugal loading at about 1500 RPM to about 4500 RPM while functioning as an insulator. The molding operation provides many advantages over CNC machining and other manufacturing methods.

Molded rotor blocking and other molded articles of manufacture

An insulating material ( ) for an electrical generator rotor and method of forming the same. An insulating substrate ( ) is formed from a single layer of woven glass fabric ( ) having a necessary thickness and coated with a thermosetting resin ( ). A first side of the substrate ( ) is adhered to a first layer of copper winding material ( ) of an electrical generator. A second side of the substrate ( ) is covered with a layer of contacting material ( ), such as plastic film, paper, treated felt or coated glass fabric, to cover the rough as-formed surface of the substrate ( ) resulting from the coating of the necessarily thick layer of fabric ( ). The contacting material ( ) provides a desired coefficient of friction to form a slip surface permitting relative movement between the first layer of copper winding material ( ) and a second layer of copper winding material ( ) disposed over the insulating material ( ). The addition of a separate contacting layer eliminates the prior art step of laminating three relatively thin layers of prepreg composite material to achieve a desired thickness and surface finish. Sanding to maintain adequate thickness control is also eliminated, thereby significantly reducing the cost of the insulating material ( ) when compared to prior art insulation.

Composite electrical insulation with contacting layer and method of making the same

The apparatus disclosed is a type of downhole pressure gauge to be used to measure and record pressure information about oil and gas wells. The apparatus measures fluctuations in pressure by means of a mechanical pressure sensitive device, such as a Bourdon tube, and records and stores this information by converting mechanical movement, associated with pressure changes as detected by the mechanical pressure sensitive device, into corresponding voltage changes across a potentiometer which are stored in an electronic memory board. The change in voltage over time corresponds to the change in well pressure over time, thereby providing important information to the well operator. Also disclosed is a method for measuring well pressure by means of combining a mechanical pressure sensitive device with an electrical system and an electronic memory board for storing the measurements. Also disclosed is a kit, whereby an existing downhole mechanical pressure gauge can be converted to a mechanical/electrical combination by the replacement of certain parts.

Downhole pressure gauge converter

The fruit picker separates a fruit, positioned within an intake end opening of a hollow tube, from its stem by extending a blade across the opening. With the stem forced against the wall of the opening, the tube is moved to separate the stem from the fruit. The movement causes the fruit to fall by gravity inside the tube through a discharge end to which a collection bottle is connected.

Apparatus for playing rebounding ball games on a hollow pyramid-shaped structure having three or four solid side surfaces constituting playing surfaces. The pyramid-shaped structure is positioned upright or laid on a side, centrally of a plurality of playing courts corresponding in number to the sides of the structure and each side surface confronting a respective court. The games are played by rebounding a suitable rebounding ball from external playing surfaces or internal playing surfaces of the hollow structure in a corner ball game.
