A computer system, computer program product, and computer-implemented method for using reverse currents to self-test multiphase power supply circuits. The method includes executing one or more operations on at least two circuit phases of one or more multiphase power supply circuits. The multiphase power supply circuits include a plurality of circuit phases, and each multiphase power supply circuit is electrically coupled to a plurality of electric power phases. Each circuit phase is coupled to an electric power phase. Executing the operations includes adjusting the voltage on one or more first phases of the plurality of circuit phases to a plurality of voltages, and inducing a reverse current from one or more second phases of the plurality of circuit phases to the one or more first phases.

Self-test using reverse currents in multiphase power supplies

Embodiments for linking separate eFuse and ORING controllers for output overvoltage protection in power conversion applications. Voltage regulators are configured in parallel. An input circuit includes an input controller, the input circuit being coupled to an input of at least one voltage regulator of the voltage regulators. An output circuit includes an output controller, the output circuit being coupled to an output of the at least one voltage regulator. The output controller is coupled to the input circuit to cause the input circuit to prevent power to the at least one voltage regulator in response to the output controller detecting an overvoltage condition.

Linking separate eFuse and ORING controllers for output overvoltage protection in redundant power converters

Embodiments include redundant power supplies and method for fault detection in a redundant power supply. Aspects include monitoring a voltage at local output nodes of each phase of the redundant power supply, wherein the local output nodes are each connected to an output bus of the redundant power supply via a feedback path. Aspects also include creating an alert that a phase associated with the local output node has failed based on a determination that the voltage at the local output node is within a fault range.

Fault detection in redundant power supplies

A device to detect a select state and initiate a function based on detecting the select state. The device receives a signal sent over a bus to be used to communicate between one component of one unit and another component of another unit. The bus is defined based on a selected protocol, and the device is configured to communicate with the other component of the other unit. A determination is made as to whether the signal represents a select state, the select state being an unintended state of the bus. Based on determining that the signal represents the select state, a function is initiated.
