An integrated system comprising a barrier, such as a weir with movable gates, controllably blocks water flow in a natural or concrete lined channel. Without substantially impeding flow in normal conditions, the barrier is configured to back up flood waters to spill into an upstream prepared detention basin. Water is thus kept from downstream areas until subsequently drained through a controlled spill. Multiple units installed in a watershed can store significant amounts of flood water, e.g., during a hurricane, protecting life and property downstream. The electromechanically-operated gates can be operated locally or from a remote control center. Gauges and sensors positioned near the weir and/or throughout the watershed can provide data used to control one or more barriers in the watershed, and the data may be used to train a machine learning model to control the system.

A stepstool includes a stool body and a stability extension. The stool body includes a top step and a support structure that supports the top step. The stability extension projects distally from a base portion of the support structure and extends distally beyond a distal edge of the top step. The stability extension is configured to be received in a toe-space at the base of floor-standing furniture, and the stool body is configured so that the distal edge of the top step can be positioned immediately adjacent to the floor-standing furniture, to provide mechanical interference and thus prevent tipping of the stool body when a user on the top step leans out of balance. Also, the sides of the support structure can be angled outwardly to provide a wider base portion for improved stability of the stool body.

A conduit spacer assembly for supporting and conveying an inner conduit into an outer conduit. The conduit spacer assembly has one or more conveyance assemblies moveable along a track coupled to the outer conduit. One or more conduit spacers are suspended from the conveyance assemblies, and support the inner conduit. The conveyance assemblies may be coupled together by a strap member. A force applied to one conveyance assembly is transferred to the other conveyance assemblies via the strap member. An installation assembly having a frame structure and a track support assist with the installation of the conduit spacer assembly and the inner conduit.

A method and apparatus for isolating a section of sewer line. In one embodiment, a chamber is provided that extends into the ground and intersects a sewer pipe. Thereafter, the fluid in the sewer pipe is exposed to an interior of the chamber and a dam is placed in the chamber to isolate an upstream portion of the chamber from a downstream portion. As fluid collects in the upstream side of the chamber, at least one pump is used to control the fluid level in the upstream portion by transferring the fluid from the chamber to a predetermined, remote location.

Methods and apparatus for isolating a section of fluid line

An easily constructed highly secure, walk-in vault uses pre-cast panels. A door frame is molded into one of the panels. The panels have interlocking joints with adjacent panels. The interlocking joints are protected with continuous, double burglary-proof seams situated in the interior of the vault. Abutting panels are securely held together by metal rods that penetrate the interlocking joints.

A winch spooled with a cable is provided for mounting on the boom of a host vehicle. The winch is surrounded by a frame housing that is capable of withstanding the forces applied by the host vehicle. A braking mechanism is provided for controlling the spooling and unspooling of the cable. The winch is mounted on the boom of a host vehicle by a conventional attachment that is used for other custom tools such as buckets of a backhoe.

A rehabilitation system has been developed for cleaning, testing and slip lining pipe particularly sewer lines while in service. The system includes the use of equipment adapted for use on mobile vehicles to increase efficiency and mobility of the system. The cleaning system utilizes a specialized cleaning bucket that can be pulled from excavations and existing manholes. The testing and lining systems also utilize specialized test mandrels and pulling mandrels for the pipe liner that can be used with equipment operating, in part, from existing manholes.

A method for cleaning a pipe using a swab that can be made of one or multiple tires connected to one or more cables and pulled through the host pipe during the cleaning process. The cables are attached to rigid plates mounted in the central opening of the tire. The method provides an effective and low cost method to remove debris and mud particularly from underground pipe.

A tire swab is provided for cleaning pipes. The swab is a tire with steel plates mounted against its sidewalls. Flexible yokes connect the plates to a cable which is used to pull the swab through the pipe. A pipe is placed through the center of the plates and the tire. The pipe allows the flow to pass through the swab while it is in use. The device can also be used as a plug for the host pipe. Compressed air is used to inflate the tire until it contacts the host pipe and plugs the flow. The pipe located in the center of the tire which allows the flow to pass is opened and closed by a valve.
