Wiper apparatuses are provided herein. In one example, a wiper apparatus includes a wiper that has a wiper arm and a wiper blade. The wiper blade is mounted to the wiper arm for contact with a window of a motor vehicle. A wiper drive motor pivots the wiper arm between an out-wipe position and an in-wipe position. A controller controls operation of the wiper drive motor to cause the wiper drive motor to selectively stop the wiper blade in a standard park position when in a standard park mode and in a high park position when in a high park mode. The wiper blade in the high park position is located further up from a bottom edge of the window than in the standard park position. A wiper control switch causes the controller to toggle between the standard park mode and the high park mode when moved according to a predetermined switching sequence.

Wiper apparatuses, motor vehicles having wiper apparatuses, and methods for operating wiper apparatuses

A vehicle wiper system includes a wiper arm, a motor including a motor shaft, and a drive connection through which torque is transmitted from the motor shaft to the wiper arm when the motor is energized, and at least partially releasing a connection between the motor shaft and the wiper arm when the motor is deenergized.

Detachable rear wiper system

A wiper blade for use on a vehicle window comprises a blade hinge made of a hydrophobic, elastomeric material, a wiping lip and a blade body. The wiping lip has a tip that contacts the vehicle window, a wiping lip base adjoining the blade hinge, and a tapered portion extending between the tip and the wiping lip base. The wiping lip base is made of a hydrophobic, elastomeric material and a majority of the tapered portion is made of an elastomeric material that is not hydrophobic. The blade body includes a main body portion configured to secure a wiper arm thereto, and a base portion adjoining the main body portion and the blade hinge. The base portion is made of a hydrophobic, elastomeric material and the main body portion is made of an elastomeric material that is not hydrophobic.

Wiper blade for vehicle window wiper

A method of operating a wiper system on a window of a vehicle. The method comprising: setting a park position for a wiper to one of a standard park position or a high park position, where the standard park position locates a wiper blade of the wiper closer to a bottom edge of the window; activating the wiper system to cause the wiper to be pivoted back and forth between an in-wipe position and an out-wipe position; deactivating the wiper system; if the park position is set to the standard park position when the wiper system is deactivated, stopping movement of the wiper when the wiper blade is in the standard park position; and if the park position is set to the high park position when the wiper system is deactivated, stopping movement of the wiper when the wiper blade is in the high park position.

Window wiper with high park position

A covered windshield wiper includes a hub, a wiper arm having spaced apart side walls, and a pivot pin connecting the wiper arm to the hub. A pair of abutments coaxial with the pivot pin space the side walls of the wiper arm from the hub. A one-piece molded cover has a u-shaped cross section providing a base wall overlying the entire length of the wiper arm and the wiper blade, and laterally spaced side walls depending from the base wall and concealing from view both the wiper arm and the wiper blade. A hook molded on the cover engages the end of the wiper arm. A pair of snap tabs molded on the cover reach into the space between the side walls of the wiper arm and the hub to snap onto the pair of abutments and thereby removably attach the cover onto the wiper.
