The present invention relates to an electrode unit () for an electric vacuum capacitor comprising a band-shaped capacitor plate () with a height H, wherein the band-shaped capacitor plate () is wound in a spiral with a maximum diameter Dand a constant distance between successive turns, wherein the band-shaped capacitor plate () comprises a first longitudinal edge () attached to a supporting part () and a second longitudinal edge (), the second longitudinal edge () being free, wherein at the outer extremity of the spiral, the first longitudinal edge () and the second longitudinal edge () are connected by an inclined edge () such that the first longitudinal edge () is longer than the second longitudinal edge (), wherein the inclined edge () forms with the longitudinal axis (B) of the band-shaped capacitor plate () an angle α less than or equal to an angle α=(45°·π/180°). The invention relates also to a vacuum capacitor () comprising at least one electrode unit () according to the present invention.

Electrode unit for a vacuum capacitor and a vacuum capacitor

A variable vacuum capacitor is described in which oil inside the main bellows () is pumped through the bellows and through the oil circuit () of a heat exchanger by a pump (). Water passes through coolant channels () of the heat exchanger, from inlet () to outlet ('). The extendable capacitor drive shaft () is hollow and serves as a conduit, conveying the oil to the bottom of the (bellows), thereby ensuring a full circulation of the oil right through the bellows and then through the heat exchanger. Pump drive means () may be a gerotor hydraulic motor, coupled to a gerotor oil pump () via magnetic coupling (). Pumping heat transfer fluid (oil) through the bellows allows the capacitor to operate at significantly higher currents and/or lower temperatures, and significantly extends the life of the device.

Variable vacuum capacitor and cooling method

A vacuum variable capacitor includes a pre-vacuum enclosure for reducing a pressure differential across the bellows. The vacuum force load on the drive system can thereby be reduced, allowing faster movement of the movable electrode, faster capacitance adjustment of the vacuum variable capacitor and longer lifetimes of the device.

A vacuum variable capacitor includes a pre-vacuum enclosure for reducing a pressure differential across the bellows, wherein a drive is disposed outside the enclosures of the vacuum variable capacitor. The vacuum force load on the drive system can thereby be reduced, allowing faster movement of the movable electrode, faster capacitance adjustment of the vacuum variable capacitor and longer lifetimes of the device.

A high-voltage capacitor includes a gas-tight enclosure containing interleaved electrodes. The dielectric of the capacitor is a pressurized gas at a pressure of at least 6 bar, and preferably 10 or 15 bar. In order to withstand this level of internal pressure, the insulating body section of the capacitor may be formed of a high-strength polymeric material.

High-voltage capacitor

A variable vacuum capacitor includes two pairs of electrodes ganged together in series such that no moving parts are required to connect electrically to any static pans. Two sets, or gangs, of movable electrodes are connected mechanically and electrically together such that they move together and such that they require no electrical connection to any other part of the device. The ganged arrangement means that the device can be constructed with a smaller diameter, but without significantly increasing the overall length of the device.

The cathode () comprises a substrate substantially transparent for X-ray radiation (&#x3b3;). In particular, the likewise substantially transparent for X-ray radiation (&#x3b3;). In particular, the cathode () can close off the vacummized internal chamber () toward the outside.

X-ray tube for high dose rates, method of generating high dose rates with X-ray tubes and a method of producing corresponding X-ray devices

Modular X-ray tube () and method for the production of such an X-ray tube, in which an anode () and a cathode () are arranged in a vacuumized inner space () situated opposite each other, electrons (e) being produced at the cathode () and X-rays (y) at the anode (). The X-ray tube () according to the invention comprises a multiplicity of acceleration modules (), complementing one another, and each acceleration module () comprises at least one potential-carrying acceleration electrode (). A first acceleration module () thereby comprises the cathode (), a second acceleration module () the anode (). The X-ray tube () further comprises at least one other acceleration module (). In particular, the X-ray tube according to the invention can possess a re-closeable vacuum valve, enabling individual defective parts of the tube () to be replaced in a simple manner or enabling the tube () to be modified in a modular way.
