A Lubrication system for an engine component of a gas turbine engine, such as a planetary gearbox. The system comprises a main lubrication system comprising a main tank configured to supply lubricant to the engine component, and a main reservoir configured to collect lubricant scavenged from the engine component after lubrication; and an auxiliary lubrication system comprising an auxiliary reservoir configured to collect lubricant scavenged from the engine component after lubrication and to supply scavenged lubricant to the engine component. Main reservoir comprises an interior and the auxiliary reservoir is located within the interior of the main reservoir. The auxiliary reservoir comprises an upper portion, a lower portion and a lubricant pickup region, the upper portion comprising an opening arranged to permit lubricant to overflow into the main reservoir, and the lower portion of the auxiliary reservoir being shaped to cause lubricant to drain towards the lubricant pickup region.

Lubrication system

There is provided a burner for a gas turbine engine, the burner comprising a radially inner pilot fuel flow passage surrounded by a radially outer main fuel flow passage. The main fuel flow passage is interposed between concentrically arranged radially inner and radially outer air flow passages. The inner and outer air flow passages are in fluid communication with one another via at least one diverting passage at an upstream end of the burner. The burner further comprises at least one control duct connectable to a reduced pressure/vacuum source for selectively reducing the air pressure in the vicinity of the diverting passage such that air flow is selectively diverted from the inner air flow passage to the outer flow passage via the diverting passage.

An apparatus for measuring the circumferential distribution of temperature in a fluid, comprising a plurality of sensor ladders, each incorporating a plurality of temperature sensors, wherein a first one of the sensor ladders partially overlaps a second one of the sensor ladders, part of the first sensor ladder not overlapping the second sensor ladder.
