A fire pit has a tub with a hollow interior chamber for receiving ash-producing combustibles. The chamber has a perforated bottom portion. A support is adapted to attach to the tub and be removable therefrom without the use of tools. The support has an ash-collecting compartment disposed directly below the perforated bottom portion when the support is attached to the tub. The support is adapted to support the tub when attached thereto, and to receive hot ashes into the compartment which fall through the perforated bottom portion during combustion of the combustibles, so that the ashes can collect and cool within the compartment and then be transported with the removed support for remote disposal.

A utensil for cleaning a cooking surface has cleaning head affixed to a distal end of an elongate handle. The head has a base and a porous cover. Submerging the head in a liquid enables the liquid to flow through the porous cover and perforations in the base into chambers within the base. Applying the head having the liquid-filled chambers against the cooking surface enables the liquid to flow from the chambers and through the perforations and continuously dampen the porous cover.

An improved bath seat for a young child or infant is provided. The bath seat has a plurality of rigid, extendable and retractable, stabilizing arms that include pivotable, spring-loaded suction cups at or near their ends that are engageable by means of suction with a wall of the bathtub to prevent the bath seat from tipping.

The folding playard consists of a frame and a fabric enclosure mounted on the frame. The frame is composed of an array of scissoring tube pairs making up the sides of the structure. The fabric enclosure has the same number of sides as the frame and an integral bottom floor. To lock the playard in the 'in use' position, a plastic hook clip, which is connected to the bottom floor fabric and the top of the structure is engaged. This strap ensures the tubes are locked in the 'in use' position and the structure cannot collapse.

A safety gate is composed of a U-shaped frame and a door spanning the interior of the frame. One side of the door is pivotally connected to one side of the frame to permit pivotal movement of the door with respect to the frame. The frame's width is adjusted by a ratchet mechanism composed of a spring-loaded pawl having a sloping side and a vertical side so that the width of the frame can be adjusted in one direction only.

The apparatus may also include a detent arm mechanically engaged with the attachment arm in the locked position of the attachment arm, the detent arm configured so that an application of a force to the detent arm simultaneously unlocks the attachment arm and opens the tag loop.
