Agricultural tillage implement fold/raise and lower control

A traction unit drawn agricultural implement for treating a field along repeated generally parallel longitudinal swaths has a hydraulic system for lifting and lowering a ground engaging implement portion at the beginning and end respectively of each swath. A system for aligning the beginning of one swath with the termination of the previous swath determines initial lift and lower times and adjusts the hydraulic system to bring the times into closer conformity.

A system is provide for filling a pressurized tank of an air cart or other storage element while operating to deliver product to a ground engaging tool, such as for seeding or fertilizer placement. A rotary air lock coupled between a feeder and a storage tank includes a plurality of vanes providing pockets in between for holding particulate materials, The rotary air lock rotates the pockets from the feeder to a sealed area and from the sealed area to the storage tank, As such, the rotary air lock transfers the particulate materials to the storage tank while substantially maintaining a pressure in the storage tank. The system may be filled during, field operations, and a filling or conveyor system may be controlled via a vehicle to vehicle (V2V) operation.

System and method for an air cart and rotary air lock

A tillage implement spanning a lateral distance relative to a forward direction and having a plurality of carrier frames, each for supporting a plurality of soil engaging tools. A pivoting wheel assembly positions the carrier frames at a variable distance from the soil and an actuator is connected between the carrier frame and each support wheel assembly to vary the height of the carrier frame. The actuator has a sensor for generating a signal reflecting the displacement of the actuator. The sensor element is mounted in an adjustable sensor support and countersunk by the required clearance between the sensor element and encoded information on the output shaft so that the sensor support may be adjusted to abut the shaft and accurately position the sensor element.

Agricultural implement actuator sensor projection

A bale ejection sequence for ejecting a bale from a baler is initiated from an operator command based upon monitored bale ejection factors. A controller implements a timing sequence that is based on a calibration of a cycle timing of a tailgate of the baler. The timing sequence relates to movement of the tractor, a position of the tailgate, and a hydraulic flow rate of fluid to a hydraulic system connected to the tailgate to move the tailgate between a closed position and an open position.

Semi-automatic bale ejection sequence

System information and parameters relating to a baler and equipment connected thereto are used to calibrate the speed of a tailgate of the baler. Calibration involves setting the time it takes to raise and lower the tailgate. The calibration timing is used to control the speed of the tailgate for faster and safer bale ejections to ensure the ejection configuration values are tuned to the dynamics of the baler tailgate and hydraulic power of the tractor.

Calibration of baler tailgate cycle speed

A combination tractor and baler is provided to automate tractor stopping and baler wrapping while incorporating operator interaction to improve the efficiency of the tractor and baler combination in operation. Automated control systems and manual operator devices are utilized to improve the timing of the tractor stop and baler wrapping time sequences. Various methods to improve efficiency, including methods to synchronize tractor stop with wrapping activation are provided.
