A client-side electronic device includes a receiver, a processor, and a memory. The receiver communicates with a message server over a communication medium of a communication network. The memory stores computer-executable instructions, which, when executed by the processor, cause the device to receive, from the message server, a broadcast message, a timestamp associated with the broadcast message, and a first digital signature of the broadcast message and a second digital signature of the timestamp. The executed instruction further cause the device to verify an integrity of the broadcast message based the first or second digital signatures, determine a freshness of the broadcast message based on the received timestamp, calculate a trust state of the broadcast message based on the integrity verification and the freshness determination, and store the broadcast message in the memory along with the calculated trust state.

Systems and methods for protecting cellular network messages

Systems and methods implement Data-Over-Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) time protocol (DTP) calibration. A testing laboratory measures a DTP timing error for a test configuration representative of a DOCSIS network to determine DTP calibration data. The DTP calibration data is stored in association with a DTP calibration testing setup of the DOCSIS network in a DTP calibration platform. An operational cable modem termination system (CMTS) conforming to the DTP calibration testing setup retrieves and applies the DTP calibration data from the DTP calibration platform based on the DTP calibration testing setup.

The processor is configured to identify a first management information base (MIB) of a first occupied channel in the communication network, and a second MIB of a second occupied channel in the communication network adjacent the first occupied channel. In one embodiment, a communication system includes a first plurality of wireless base stations, each being operable to communicate with UEs. The system also includes a base station aggregator operable to aggregate the wireless base stations into a virtual base station, and to interface with the MCO. The base station aggregator is further operable to process a request from the MCO for access to communications provided by the virtual base station, to grant the request, to intermediate on behalf of the MCO, and to exchange communications between the MCO and a UE subscribing to the MCO and operating within the coverage of the virtual base station.
