In a puzzle toy having a plurality of push buttons, a mechanism for latching push buttons to a rotor, where rotation of the rotor sets a predetermined order for pushing buttons to solve the puzzle, and a chance mechanism for rotating the rotor, an improvement that partitions a rotor shaft and the rotor into two segments that rotate independently, responsive to separate weights affixed to each shaft segment. A reset mechanism operates by shifting the rotor along the shaft axis.

A puzzle toy that includes a plurality of push buttons that normally project from the surface of a cubic or spherical body. As the buttons are pushed in one at a time a latching mechanism residing within the body holds the buttons in a pushed-inwardly state, given a correct sequence of a subset of the buttons was pushed, deduced by logic and memory and including a chance mechanism. However if an incorrect sequence of the selected subset of button pushing is employed the user is unable to continue until all the buttons so far pushed are reset, either manually or automatically, forcing the player to start all over. The puzzle is solved when all buttons are pushed in flush with the body of the toy.

The present invention provides a method and system for detecting operating status of the shutter. The device includes a shutter for receiving a light from a source, a solenoid for controlling movement of the shutter, and an optical sensor connected to the shutter for detecting the light received by the shutter. The solenoid produces a electrical signal indicating the solenoid operating state signal. The sensor produces electrical signal indicating open and closed stages of the shutter. The device further includes an electronic circuit for receiving both the electrical signals, and outputting an electrical output signal reflecting the operating status of the shutter.

The present invention provides an electromagnetic energy spot curing system which utilizes an external signal from a processor to control the operation of the curing unit. The processor is external to the curing unit and specifically controls the exposure and dwell periods of the radiation energy from the curing unit on a work site or target which contains material to be light cured.

The present invention provides an electromagnetic energy spot curing method and system which integrates the UV radiation with an inert gas to disperse the gas and the radiation energy simultaneously to cure an adhesive surface on a target or work piece. The system provides a means to cure the adhesive surface during photoinitiation to expel the atmospheric oxygen which otherwise would interfere with the curing cycle.

A method is disclosed for constructing non-seamed stone corners for use on outside edges formed by joining thin stone walls at right angles. Thin stone is used to lay the field of the walls. Then a building stone is oriented and fed down a chute, having perpendicular sides, through two stone cutting saws at right angles to one another, where the distance between the saw blades and the sides of the chute correspond to the thickness of the respective thin stone walls, and where the cutting edges of the saw blades have a clearance between them of about one-eighth of an inch. A residual piece is removed from the cut building stone, leaving a corner stone. These corner stones are laid on the corner formed by the right angle joint between the walls, giving the illusion of a thick building stone wall with nearly the low cost and easy laying of thin stone. Where the residual piece is large enough, it is used to cut a second corner stone in the same manner.

A UV spot curing lamp assembly comprises an integral filter support and shutter stop mechanism. The assembly includes a UV lamp and a light guide spaced therefrom for receiving filtered light from the lamp and for directing light through the light guide to a selected target or work site for curing materials thereat. A filter plate in the form of a borosilicate glass, having a selected thickness for the particular application, is disposed in relatively close proximity to the entrance surface of the light guide. A movable shutter plate, having an opening therethrough, is disposed between the filter and the light guide entrance surface. The shutter is movable from a first position wherein the opening is in registry with the light guide entrance surface to receive light from the lamp to a second position wherein a solid portion of the shutter plate blocks light from being received by the light guide entrance surface. Effective cooling of the lamp assembly is provided by a fan by which forced air is drawn over the lamp and the integral filter support and shutter stop, and by an internal mounting system configured to direct the drawn air for effective convective heat dissipation.

A method and apparatus for controlling the operation of a gas discharge including regulation of power provided to the lamp for maintaining constant light output throughout the lamp's life. A circuit is provided that continuously monitors the lamp voltage and current. A lamp resistance is determined by dividing the lamp voltage with the lamp current. Based on the lamp resistance, the power provided to the lamp is adjusted to maintain constant light output from the lamp.

A UV curing lamp assembly permits adjustable positioning of a UV curing lamp with respect to a bracket supporting a reflector. The assembly includes an elongate UV lamp having opposed ends. A reflector having a central base and a curved reflective wall includes a pair of opposed openings through the reflector wall for passage of the UV lamp therethough. A bracket adjustably supports the reflector and the lamp. The bracket includes a bracket body movably supporting a mounting member for adjustably supporting the reflector with respect to the bracket body. A support arm extends from the bracket body towards one of the openings in the reflector. The support arm adjustably supports one of the ends of the UV lamp with respect to the reflector.

A dispensing system detects system blockages in a delivery system due to curing or pack-out between a fluid source and a fluid dispense valve. The dispensing system automatically compensates for blockages in the delivery system by diverting fluid flow from one fluid circuit line to a parallel fluid circuit line leading to a dispensing valve.

A minimal wear valve assembly which includes a fluid reservoir having an inlet port and an outlet port for passage of the fluid therethrough. The reservoir defines a valve seat about and downstream of the outlet port. The assembly includes a valve having a first substantially non-deformable valve surface. The valve is movable with respect to the valve seat from an open condition which permits flow of the fluid through the outlet port to a closed condition which prevents flow of the fluid through the outlet port. The valve supports a sealing member for movement with the valve. The sealing member has greater compressibility than the first valve surface and provides a seal between the first valve surface and the valve seat upon movement of the valve to the closed condition.
