A tunneling system for use with a catheter includes an elongate tunneling member defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof. The elongate member has a first end and a second end. The tunneling system further includes a connector configured for releasably engaging the second end of the elongate tunneling member to the catheter.

Disclosed is an ECG electrode lead system suitable for use during imaging procedures such as, without limitation, CT scans or MRI and methods of use. In embodiments, the system includes an ECG electrode connector formed from radiolucent materials to enhance performance during imaging procedures by reducing or eliminating shadows on imaging media. In some embodiments, the disclosed connector includes a housing having an opening configured to operably receive an electrode post of an ECG electrode pad, an electrode member having a generally semicircular contact face disposed along at least a part of the perimeter of the opening, and an engagement member having an actuation surface and an engaging face pivotable about a pivot to enable engaging face to move from a first position whereby the engaging face is closer to the contact face and a second position whereby the engaging face is further from the contact face.

An introducer adapted to facilitate positioning of a catheter, such as an intrauterine catheter, is provided. The introducer includes an elongate member having an outer wall defining a longitudinal axis and a longitudinal lumen for reception of a catheter, e.g., an intrauterine catheter. The outer wall includes first and second longitudinal edges defining a longitudinal slot in communication with the longitudinal lumen. The outer wall has a cross-section orthogonal to the longitudinal axis and defining a thickness at an opposed location generally opposing the longitudinal slot greater than a thickness at edge locations adjacent the first and second longitudinal edges, to thereby permit the first and second longitudinal edges to be displaced relative to each other to increase a dimension of the longitudinal slot to facilitate one of removal or insertion of the catheter via the longitudinal slot and relative to the longitudinal lumen. The thickness of the outer wall may be dimensioned to gradually decrease from the opposed location to the edge locations. The ratio of the thickness of the outer wall at the opposed location to the thickness of the outer wall at the edge locations is about 2:1. The outer wall may define a generally c-shaped cross-section.

A noise-suppressing electrocardiograph (ECG) adapter having a first end, a second end, and a noise-suppression element is presented, together with an ECG noise-suppressing system and related methods. In an embodiment, the noise-suppressing ECG adapter includes a housing having at least one first connector disposed at a first end of the housing adapted to electrically couple with an ECG lead set, and at least one second connector adapted for coupling to an input of an ECG device. The adapter includes a noise suppression element. The noise suppression element includes a ferromagnetic element having an opening defined therein. In an embodiment the noise suppression element is internal to the adapter. In another embodiment, the noise suppression element is tethered externally to the adapter and configured to clamp around at least a portion of an ECG leadwire.

A tunneling system includes an elongate tunneling member defining a longitudinal axis along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof. The elongate tunneling member has a first end and a second end. The second end of the elongate tunneling member includes a coupling segment adapted for securely engaging a catheter.

An electrocardiograph (ECG) adapter including an adapter body having a first end and a second end is presented. A monitor connector is positioned at the first end of the adapter body, the monitor connector adapted for coupling to an input of an ECG monitor. A first lead receptacle is positioned at the second end of the adapter body, the first lead receptacle configured to receive a first connector having a first pin configuration. A second lead receptacle is positioned at the second end of the adapter body, the second lead receptacle located adjacent the first lead receptacle and configured to receive a second connector having a second pin configuration different from the first pin configuration.

ECG adapter system and method

An ECG lead set assembly including a lead set hub and a retractable reel assembly retained within the lead set hub. The retractable reel assembly includes a reel member adapted for rotation within the lead set hub and an electrode lead wrapped about the reel member and having an electrical conductor for connecting to an electrode for receiving biopotential signals from a patient. The electrode lead is extendable from the reel member upon rotation within the lead set hub.

An ECG lead set including an ECG electrode assembly and a lead set hub. ECG electrode includes at least one electrode configured to receive biopotential signals from a patient, a plug connector for connecting said ECG electrode assembly, a web, connected between the at least one electrode and the plug connector and configured to form an electrical connection therebetween. The lead set hub includes at least one receptacle configured to receive the plug connector of the ECG electrode assembly.

A clamping assembly includes a body having a base and an arcuate body portion secured to the base. The arcuate body portion defining at least one opening dimensioned to receive a tubular member having a lumen. The clamping assembly further includes a slide member adapted to slide along the arcuate portion between an open position and a closed position. The slide member is movable along the arcuate body portion to compress the tubular member received within the body against the base to obstruct the lumen of the tubular member when the slide member is in the closed position.

An aspiration instrument includes a compliant protective guard for minimizing injury to internal organs and other soft tissue while removing fluids from the body cavity. The compliant protective guard may be constructed from foam, plastic or other like material, including polyethylene and polypropylene. A preferred embodiment of the protective guard takes the shape of a bell. The compliant guard may be connected with the aspiration instrument using adhesives, such as glue or epoxy, or with a snap or friction fit. The compliant guard may define a single opening in fluid communication with the yankauer. The compliant guard may also define a plurality of openings for removing fluids from the body.
