A play set has a toy ring stage including a raised platform with vertical posts, a ring mat, and a ring skirt partially attached to the platform. The play set includes a horizontal ring rope attached to the at least four posts to complete a wrestling or boxing ring stage. A turnbuckle is provided for attaching the rope to the post. In one embodiment, a sheath covers the turnbuckle. In one embodiment, a turnbuckle pad is used to cover the turnbuckle. The turnbuckle pad includes two dimples for contouring the pad to the rope.

Toy ring stage

A toy figurine includes internal light and sound effects that are coordinated with the manipulation of a toy figurine joint. The toy figurine joint may be configured to perform an action when manipulated. The light and sound effects may be coordinated with the performance of that action. The light and sound effects may serve to enhance or embellish the performance of that action. The embellishment stimulates the senses and the imagination and otherwise enhances the play value of the toy figure.

A launching device for grasping and launching an action figure is provided, the launching device having: a base member; an arm member pivotally secured to the base member for movement between a first position and a second position; a pair of grasping members rotatably secured to the arm member, wherein the pair of arm members are configured to releasably grasp a portion of the action figure; a drivetrain coupled to the pair of grasping members wherein the drivetrain is configured to rotate the pair of grasping members about an axis of the arm member as the arm member moves between the first position and the second position.

Method and apparatus for launching action figures

In one embodiment, an action piece for a toy play set is provided, the action piece being configured to have at least three separate engagement features configured to retain and subsequently release a portion of an action figure. In another embodiment a play set is provided, the play set having: a ring structure, at least one action figure and an action piece for securement to a portion of the ring structure. In still another embodiment, a method of launching an action figure from a play set in order to cause the action figure to fly through the air in a predetermined fashion is provided.

A toy action figure includes a cape and a spring-loaded arm. The upper torso of the toy action figure includes two pivotally coupled arms. The first pivotally coupled arm is configured to retract the cape. An actuator button may be provided on the front of the torso to actuate the cape into an extended position with the assistance of a spring. The second pivotally coupled arm may include a spring-loaded arm to launch a projective therefrom.

A toy vehicle is transformed from a first configuration to a second configuration through relative movement of two portions of the vehicle. The vehicle includes a roof panel which closes a roof area during the transition from the first configuration to the second configuration. The closing of the roof area hides the displacement of a first seat in the vehicle by a second seat. When the first seat is mounted with a first toy figure and the second seat is mounted with a different toy figure, an illusion is created that the initial toy figure has changed appearance. The roof panel may close and reopen at a rate rapid enough to render the change of toy figures to be an instantaneous transformation. Additional deployable components such as projectile launchers, tail fins, and front bumpers may be incorporated into the toy vehicle.

The present invention relates to a launching device for a flying toy. The launching device facilitates the transition of the flying toy from a resting state to a flying state. The launching device may include elements for holding one or more parts of the flying toy in a retracted position while the flying toy is in a resting state and for releasing the parts when the flying toy launches into a flying state. According to the invention, the launching device includes a launch-assist mechanism that provides a force to facilitate the launch of the flying toy.

A music production system is presented that includes a music module to access computer software applications and produce music compositions. The system in a first mode records and corrects the pitch of a tune, typically a tune sung by a user at a microphone. The user may produce additional tracks with the software applications including instruments playing the recorded and corrected tune or to accompany the user while singing the tune. In a second mode, the system generates virtual characters such as band members, a producer and/or a manager to simulate the production and presentation of the recorded tune as a stage show as part of a recording industry. Virtual characters may assist in the use of user interface functions during music composition development and orchestration.

A toy airplane includes a flying wing body having a capacitor-powered electric motor propulsion apparatus supported within the body. A charging receptacle is formed in the airplane body and supports electrical contacts which in turn are coupled to the propulsion unit. A separate battery-powered charger includes a charger head insertable into the receptacle to transfer energy from internal batteries within the charger to the capacitor power unit of the airplane. A launcher button operates a normally closed switch to decouple the motor from the propulsion unit during the charging process.

A substantially solid light conductive toy vehicle body is fabricated to include a light cavity in which a light emitting diode is supported. A vehicle drive mechanism is operatively coupled to a pair of charging terminals and a power storage capacitor. The light emitting diode is energized when the power supply capacitor is charged to permeate light into the solid light transmissive body of the toy vehicle. The outer surface of the toy vehicle body is light transmissive and is coated, for the most part, by an opaque coating. A plurality of light transmissive openings are formed in the opaque coating to allow selectively determined points of light to permeate light from the vehicle body.

A glider body preferably formed of a light weight material such as foam plastic defines a sufficiently aerodynamic shape to glide through the air. A launcher assembly is secured to the under side to the glider body and includes a stretched elastic member supported upon a launcher frame defining a channel therethrough. The elastic member is retained so as to span the frontal portion of the channel. A launcher handle includes an upper portion having a notch and a forwardly extending tine configured to be received within the channel and to engage the spanning portion of elastic member. The launcher handle and glider are drawn apart to store energy in the elastic member which upon release of the glider launches the glider into flight carrying the launcher assembly therewith.

A play material shooting toy utilizes a housing supporting a face element having a mouth aperture formed therein. The face element is removable from the housing and may receive a plug of amorphous play material. The housing further defines a collapsible bellows portion which facilitates the creation of pressurized air within the housing as the bellows are collapsed by the user's hand. The play material plug within the face unit may be launched or shot from the housing by replacing the loaded face unit into the housing and thereafter rapidly collapsing the bellows to pressurize the air within the housing and launch the plug of play material.

An air driven sound generating toy includes a support base having a bellows housing secured thereto. A bellows chamber is supported within the bellows housing and is coupled to a collapsible resilient air bellows. A tube receptacle is supported by the base and operatively coupled to the bellows chamber. A pair of check valves are supported within the bellows chamber to provide a stream of pressurized air into the tube receptacle as the bellows is successively collapsed and expanded. An elongated hollow sounding tube includes opposed end portions each couplable to the tube receptacle in an alternative attachment. A quantity of malleable play material is received within the interior passage of the sound tube and is caused to move upwardly through the sound tube as the air bellows is operated to produce pressurized air within the tube receptacle and sound tube. In addition to moving the play material, the pressurized air is, in part, forced past the play material to produce an unusual and entertaining sound effect.

A luminescent screen image making toy includes a generally planar luminescent screen having a luminescent surface defined thereon. A light unit includes an elongated housing supporting a directed light beam source and a strobe light unit. The strobe light unit and directed light beam source are constructed in accordance with conventional fabrication techniques and are utilized in providing either large are short duration illumination of the luminescent surface of the screen or small area light spot illumination suitable for writing or drawing activities.
