A system includes display equipment and a processor coupled to the display equipment. The processor is configured to cause the display equipment to display an electronic checklist associated with an aircraft. The processor is configured determine whether the electronic checklist includes a checklist item associated with a particular control page of a plurality of control pages. The processor is configured to, based on determining that the electronic checklist includes the checklist item associated with the particular control page, cause the display equipment to display the particular control page that includes a control element that is selectable to cause a control command to be sent to one or more components.

System and method for displaying an electronic checklist for an aircraft

A method includes displaying, on an electronic display, an electronic checklist. The method further includes determining whether the electronic checklist includes a checklist item associated with states of multiple components of a subsystem associated with the electronic checklist. The method further includes, based on determining that the electronic checklist includes the checklist item associated with the states of the multiple components, displaying, on the electronic display, a single option that is selectable to send control commands to the multiple components.

Apparatus and methods for consolidating multiple entries in an electronic checklist system

A touch screen bezel design that is optimized for use by a pilot during in-flight operations, which include vibrations, turbulence, and other factors affecting direct interaction with a touch screen. The bezel is further designed to include bezel indices which support touch interaction by a finger when a pilot's arm is near full extension as well as in other suboptimal postures. The bezel is also designed to elicit understanding that the screen it surrounds is touch-enabled, providing a common interface look and feel for all touch-enabled screens on the flight deck.

A system and method for braking an aircraft. A processor unit identifies an operating condition of the aircraft. The processor unit displays available modes indications on a display device on the aircraft. The available modes indications indicate modes of operating an automatic braking system on the aircraft that are available for selection by an operator based on the operating condition of the aircraft. The processor unit receives a mode selection from an operator interface. The mode selection indicates a selected mode of operating the automatic braking system that is selected by the operator from the available modes. The processor unit displays on the display device a selected mode indication indicating the selected mode.

Display-based flight deck autobrake selection

A system and method for controlling an aircraft system. An operator interaction with a control is received. The control comprises an image representing a hardware control for controlling the aircraft system. The image representing the hardware control is changed to represent a change in a state of the control in response to receiving the operator interaction. The aircraft system is operated in the manner indicated by the state of the control as represented in the image.

Multi-touch cockpit interface for controlling aircraft systems

Touch or proximity sensors are integrated into control devices such as knobs, dials or wheels incorporated in a user control panel. A control output processor detects whether any of the sensors are outputting signals indicating that a control device is being touched (or nearly touched) by a user. The control output processor causes an associated display area to be highlighted or otherwise modified on a display screen to indicate to the user which control device is being touched. This feature allows for 'no-look' interaction with control panels, and keeps the user's eyes focused on the relevant displays where the control devices produce effects. This allows users to preview and verify that the correct control device is being manipulated prior to taking any (potentially erroneous) control actions.

An operator interaction with an edge area of a touch screen is identified by a processor unit when a first format of the display is displayed on the touch screen. The edge area extends along an edge of the touch screen. A second format of the display is displayed on the touch screen by the processor unit in response to identifying the operator interaction with the edge area of the touch screen. The second format of the display is different from the first format of the display.

A method and apparatus for lighting a flight deck on an aircraft. A status of the aircraft is identified by a processor unit. The processor unit controls the lighting on the flight deck in response to the status of the aircraft to indicate the status of the aircraft.

Flight deck lighting for information display

In accordance with an embodiment, a method includes displaying information corresponding to automatically controlled engine thrust levels during a reduced engine thrust period of flight of an aircraft. The information corresponds to one or more parameters associated with a flight control computer of the aircraft. In an alternate aspect, the displayed information includes alphanumeric information formatted in accordance with a sequential order of the automatically controlled engine thrust levels. In a further aspect, the alphanumeric information corresponds to first, second and third engine thrust levels.
