A method of treating a disc that is leaking nucleus pulposus through at least one defect in the annulus fibrosus. The method includes injecting a fibrin sealant into the disc to reduce at least a portion of the at least one defect, wherein the fibrin sealant injected into the disc comprises fibrinogen and an activating compound, wherein at least a portion of the fibrin forms after injection, wherein the fibrinogen, the activating compound or both has been reconstituted with a solution containing at least one additive, with the proviso that a corticosteroid is absent from the fibrin sealant injected into the disc.

An apparatus for percutaneous delivery of a sealant comprising: at least two fluid reservoirs, an introducer needle having a distal tip that is in fluid communication with at least one reservoir, a fluid delivery tube that is in fluid communication with a second reservoir, wherein the fluid delivery tube has a tip and wherein the fluid delivery tube is configured so that the tip of the fluid delivery tube does not extend past the distal tip of the introducer needle during use.

An acetabular component for a prosthetic hip joint generally consists of an acetabular shell and an acetabular liner. The acetabular liner includes a cup portion and at least one constraining portion. The cup portion has a hemispherical or dome-shape that defines a hemispherical cavity for receiving a femoral head of a femoral component. The constraining portions may include extensions for retaining the femoral head in the cavity of the cup portion. The liner further includes cutout portions between the constraining portions. The acetabular liner is rotatable within the acetabular shell to provide a complete range of motion to the femoral component without fear of impingement, subluxation, or dislocation of the femoral head. The constraining portions may include inclined surfaces to induce rotation of the acetabular liner within the acetabular shell.

An acetabular prosthesis generally consists of an acetabular component and an acetabular shell. The acetabular component includes an acetabular articulating component and an acetabular constraining component. The articulating component has a hemispherical or dome shape that defines a hemispherical cavity for receiving a femoral ball of a femoral hip stem. The constraining component has a ring-shape body with extensions for locking the femoral ball in the cavity of the articulating component.
