The bearing assembly concept includes a floating seal arrangement. In one form, a bearing assembly comprises a first bearing member and a second bearing member that is oriented adjacent to the first bearing member. A plurality of bearings is positioned between the first bearing member and the second bearing member. A shield is engaged with the first bearing member, and a floating seal is slidably engaged with the shield and the second bearing member. The shield captures the floating seal adjacent to the second bearing member.

A manual reset high temperature limit thermostat is provided. The manual reset lockout feature is provided by a lock rod that is outwardly transitioned upon actuation of the thermostat when the sensed temperature reaches its high level limit. A manual reset reset slide then engages the lock rod to prevent automatic resetting of the thermostat once the sensed temperature decreases below the thermostat set point. Resetting of the thermostat once the temperature has decreased may be accomplished by sliding the switch to disengage the reset slide from the locking rod. The thermostat internal snap action mechanism then retracts the lock rod and resets the thermostat's electrical contacts.

The preferred medical device has a housing, opposed tissue manipulators, and a tissue transecting blade mounted for reciprocal movement with respect to the housing and manipulators. The housing is mountable within the instrument's sheath for reciprocal sliding with respect to the sheath.

Cartridge for a surgical instrument

An apparatus is provided for aligning a damaged tubular organ. One component includes a magnetically attractable element and another component includes means for generating a magnetic field sufficient to attract the magnetically attractable element. In use, one component is inserted toward a damaged region of a tubular organ and the other component is inserted through another segment of the tubular organ toward the damaged region. The components attract one another to engage one another along a substantially common axis in order to align the tubular organ along that axis.
