A system may include a first device including a first electrical interface and a second device including a second electrical interface. The system may include a battery pack including a battery pack support portion. The system may include a first removable battery pack interface configured to electrically and mechanically connect to the battery pack support portion, the first removable battery pack interface further configured to electrically connect to the first electrical interface of the first device. The system may include a second removable battery pack interface configured to electrically and mechanically connect to the battery pack support portion, the second removable battery pack interface further configured to electrically connect to the second electrical interface of the second device.

Battery pack support portion configured to accommodate multiple different device interfaces

Systems and methods for remote power tool control are provided. In one example, a battery pack is coupled to a power tool device. The battery pack includes a pack transceiver and a pack electronic processor. The pack electronic processor is coupled to the pack transceiver and is configured to determine that the power tool device is remotely controllable. The pack electronic processor is further configured to receive, wirelessly via a pack transceiver of the battery pack, a remote control command from a mobile device, and to provide the remote control command to the power tool device. The system further includes a tool electronic processor of the power tool device in communication with the pack electronic processor. The tool electronic processor is configured to control the power tool device to perform an action specified by the remote control command in response to receiving the remote control command.

Systems and methods for remote power tool device control

A battery pack including a housing, a plurality of battery cells located within the housing, and first, second, third, and fourth battery pack terminals. The housing includes a battery pack support portion configured to removably mechanically connect the battery pack to a first device and a second device. The first battery pack terminal is configured to electrically connect the battery pack to an interface of the first device. The second battery pack terminal is configured to electrically connect the battery pack to an interface of the second device. The third battery pack terminal is configured as a bypass terminal configured to bypass a current sensing circuit. The fourth battery pack terminal is configured to electrically connect the battery pack to the interface of the first device and the interface of the second device.

A fan includes a central hub defining an inlet, a motor positioned within the central hub, and an impeller positioned within the central hub. The impeller is operable to be rotated by the motor to generate air movement. The fan also includes a nozzle defining a channel that receives the airflow from the central hub. The nozzle also defines an outlet in communication with the channel to direct air out of the nozzle. The fan further includes a plurality of conduits connecting the nozzle to the central hub to direct air from the central hub to the channel and through the outlet of the nozzle. The nozzle defines a projection aligned with each conduit to divide air movement through the nozzle.

The battery pack housing includes a battery pack support portion that is configured to removably mechanically and electrically connect the battery pack to a device. The support portion includes a plurality of terminals for electrically connecting the battery pack to the device. The battery pack support portion includes a central recess. The battery pack support portion has a support portion length and a central recess length. The battery pack support portion is configured to receive a first device interface that electrically connects to a first subset of the plurality of terminals and is approximately the same length as the support portion length. The battery pack support portion is also configured to receive a second device interface that electrically connects to a second subset of the plurality of terminals and is approximately the same length as the central recess length.

A device that includes a controller having a processing unit and a memory. The device includes an enable circuit. The enable circuit prevents the device from operating (e.g., discharging current and/or receiving charging current) until the enable circuit is activated. The enable circuit includes an activation component (e.g., a near-field communication ['NFC'] circuit). The user interface may include a speaker that produces an audible response to the user. The accessory may include an object tracker that alerts a user with an audible or illuminating alert. Other accessories may include a video camera, a radio, a music player, a battery charger, an energy storage system, a garage door lock, a hinged lid, an entry door, and a window lock.

Garage door opener system having an intelligent automated assistant and method of controlling the same

A modular garage door opener system and method including a garage door opener having a motor that is configured to be coupled to a garage door to open and close the garage door. The garage door opener includes a first accessory port including a first accessory mounting interface and a second accessory port disposed on the garage door opener including a second accessory mounting interface. An accessory device including a first mounting interface engages the first accessory mounting interface to couple the accessory device to the first accessory port. The accessory device may be disengaged from the first accessory mounting interface and then engage the second accessory mounting interface to couple the accessory device to the second accessory port. Additionally, a second accessory device may engage the first accessory port after disengagement of the accessory device.

Modular garage door opener

A modular garage door opener system includes an accessory device including a first electronic processor, a first memory, and a load, and includes a garage door opener including an accessory port, a second memory, and a second electronic processor. The accessory port is configured to be removably coupled to the accessory device. The second electronic processor receives new status data from the accessory device indicating a change in a status of the accessory device to a new status, sends the new status data to a remote server to update an accessory data set, receives new settings data from the remote server indicating a requested change in a setting of the accessory device, and sends the new settings data to the accessory device to update the setting of the accessory device. The first electronic processor controls the load of the accessory device based on the new settings data.

A modular garage door opener system has an accessory device including a load, and garage door opener including an accessory port for receiving the accessory device. A server receives initial accessory device status and settings data from the garage door opener, stores the data as associated with the accessory port, and sends the data to a peripheral device. The server receives new accessory device status data and sends it to the peripheral device. New settings data is sent by the peripheral device to the server and the server sends it to the garage door opener such that the load of the accessory device is controlled based on the new settings data. Similarly, initial data may be stored and associated with a second accessory port for a second accessory device and a load of the second accessory device is controlled based on new settings data from received from the peripheral device.
