The present invention relates generally to the field of embolic protection and, more particularly, to systems for locking a shaft relative to a hub assembly. In addition, a method for securing a shaft relative to a hub assembly is disclosed.

Shaft and wire lock

A number of devices are illustrated for providing a manifold that can simply and selectively couple a number of different therapeutic and diagnostic elements to a catheter or other medical device. Some examples include devices having sliding actuators, rotary actuators, button actuators, or combinations thereof, for easily changing the valve scheme and fluid pathways within a manifold.

Manifold system for a medical device

A fluid control apparatus is disclosed for controlling fluid flow between a catheter, an injector, a saline supply, a waste dump and a contrast supply. The apparatus includes a valve stem movable within a cavity disposed in a valve body. The valve stem is movable to a plurality of positions including a contrast position where the valve stem provides communication between the injector and a contrast supply, a saline/waste position where the valve stem provides communication between the injector and a saline/waste line and an injection position where the valve stem provides communication between the injector and an outlet port connected to the catheter.

Rotary manifold syringe

A fluid control valve is disclosed which, with a single valve, can manipulate flow between a saline supply, a contrast supply, a waste dump and a catheter. The control valve includes three primary positions including a contrast position where the valve provides communication between an injector and a contrast supply while isolating the saline supply and catheter. The valve also can be moved to a saline/waste position where the valve provides communication between the injector and the saline supply and/or the waste dump while isolating the contrast supply and catheter. The valve also can be moved to an injection position where the valve provides communication between the injector and the catheter. A single valve provides all three functions. The valve also may provide communication between a pressure transducer and catheter during the saline loading, waste dumping and contrast loading functions. The valve also provides protection or isolation of the pressure transducer during injection procedures.

Multiple port fluid control valves

An improved vascular introducer sheath having a hemostasis valve assembly which provides tailored distribution of compressive forces along one of the top and bottom edges of each slit to avoid puckering of the slit(s) and to provide balanced performance in terms of bi-directional sealing effectiveness and device movement therethrough.

Hemostasis gasket valve

The present invention generally relates to a medical device and procedure for accurately positioning a catheter across a desired region within a patient's vasculature. In particular, the present invention provides a hub assembly unit that allows a physician to precisely position a stent within a vessel utilizing a stent delivery catheter. The hub assembly unit includes a fine adjustment mechanism. The fine adjustment mechanism extends or contracts the length of the hub assembly unit in controlled incremental units. These controlled fine displacements are then translated directly to the stent delivery or balloon dilation catheter.

Stent delivery catheter positioning device

A vascular introducer sheath including a tubular shaft and a hemostasis valve assembly connected to the proximal end thereof. The hemostasis valve assembly includes a hub, a cap and a normally-flat gasket disposed therebetween. Both the hub and the cap include continuous curved contact surfaces facing the top and bottom surfaces of the gasket. The continuous contact surfaces may be flat or gently curved and may be smooth or include a means to grip the gasket. At least one of the contact surfaces is formed at an angle to cause the gasket to become convex or concave in response to compression between the hub and the cap. The continuous contact surfaces uniformly distribute forces onto the perimeter of the gasket to avoid stress concentration points that may compromise gasket integrity. In addition, the continuous contact surfaces reduce the amount of pressure necessary to impart the curved shape of the gasket.
