Systems and techniques are disclosed for progressive authorization of information. One of the methods includes obtaining information from a user device indicating a user identity of a user operating the user device, the user device being in communication with a content server. A confidence associated with the user identity of the user is determined. Requests from the content server for profile information associated with the user identity are responded to, such that authorization levels of requested profile information are determined to be satisfied based on the confidence. Upon a positive determination, use of the requested profile information is granted. Upon a negative determination, prompts for additional identifying information are provided on the user device.

Progressive authorization of information based on confidences of user identities

Systems and techniques are disclosed for vending machine authorization and customization based on confidences of user identities. One of the methods includes receiving identifying information for a user device, the identifying information being received in response to the user device being within a distance of a vending machine. The vending machine can include sensors that trigger the user device to provide identifying information. A portion of profile information is accessed, portion of profile information indicating a unique identifier assigned to the user device. The portion of profile information is provided to one or more servers that communicate with the vending machine over one or more networks. Preference in formation is displayed via a display of the vending machine, the preference information being maintained by servers and being associated with the unique identifier.

Vending machine authorization and customization based on confidences of user identities

Method and apparatus for providing inventory fulfillment services to customers who have small quantities of heterogeneous items to sell. A self-service registration interface for generating lists of items to sell via the inventory fulfillment service is provided. The inventory fulfillment service may provide pricing suggestions to the customer. The inventory fulfillment service may determine whether a listed item satisfies one or more listing rules. Shipping information for a list of items may be automatically generated and provided to the customer. The customer may ship the items in one shipment to a specified facility. The customer is the seller of record for all items listed. The customer may not be charged for services until an item is sold. A listing period may be specified for which listed items will be carried. If an item does not sell within the period, option(s) for disposal of the item may be provided.

Method and apparatus for providing fulfillment services

Combining fulfillment of customer orders from merchants in computer-facilitated marketplaces. An order management system may include a virtual shopping cart interface that may be used with a number of merchants. Each merchant may be registered to receive fulfillment services from a fulfillment services provider for inventory items the merchant offers in commerce. The virtual shopping cart interface may be configured to receive requests to indicate various items within a virtual shopping cart corresponding to a customer. Different inventory items offered by different merchants may be placed within the virtual shopping cart. In response to the customer's request to finalize an order, the order management system may instruct the fulfillment services provider to ship the items in the virtual shopping cart to the customer. A single shipment may include items offered by several different merchants, and each of the merchants may be the merchant of record for its respective inventory item.
