The present disclosure relates generally to building surface panels, for example, suitable for covering a support structure of a building. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a building surface panel including a hollow panel body, a fastening strip attached to the panel body, and an overhang attached to the panel body and extending along the lower side of the building surface panel. The building surface panel includes a rear-facing engagement surface disposed at the upper side of the building surface panel and a front-facing engagement surface disposed at the lower side of the building surface panel. The front facing engagement surface is configured to engage a rear facing engagement surface of a lower neighboring building surface panel.

The present disclosure relates generally to cladding, for example, suitable for use covering the exterior surface of a building. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a siding panel including a light source. The siding panel includes a panel body having a length extending from a first end to a second end, a width extending from a first edge to a second edge, a front face, and a rear face. A first lock extends along the first edge of the panel body and a second lock extending along the second edge of the panel body. A fastening strip is coupled to the first lock. A light source extending along the length of the panel body is secured to the panel body so as to provide light from the front face of the panel body.

A building product which includes a hollow extrudate, unitary reinforcing ribs resisting collapse of the hollow extrudate and, in an embodiment, an exterior surface comprises a low gloss, textured pattern having a gloss level of less than about 50 on a 60&#xb0; glossmeter, in which the textured pattern extends for about 2-20 feet. A deck system including cooperating plastic planks, fastener covers and end caps. Each of the plastic planks has at least one channel in the upper surfaces which extends the length of the plank. Each channel includes at least one pair of opposed ledges. Each fastener cover is configured for insertion into one of the channels. The fastener cover is an elongate member having an upper face portion and a pair of legs downwardly depending from the upper face portion and extending substantially the entire length thereof. The fastener cover includes a pair of upper laterally projecting flanges and a pair of lower laterally projecting flanges. When a fastener cover is inserted into a channel, the pairs of upper and lower flanges receive the at least one pair of ledges with a gap sufficient to accommodate displacement of the fastener cover arising from ice expansion in the channel. Such a gap minimizes the likelihood of damage to the fastener cover and/or its expulsion from the channel as a consequence of ice expansion in the channel.
