A steerable sheath catheter for providing access into body vasculature, the catheter including a sheath handle with an actuator and a control mechanism operative to selectively deflect a tip section of the catheter, and a feedback mechanism that provides, for example, tactile feedback that is felt by the user as the control mechanism passes a neutral position while deflecting the tip section.

Steerable sheath catheter and methods of use

An introducer with a longitudinal slit is disclosed. The slit may enable a practitioner to remove the introducer from an elongate instrument without removing the elongate instrument from a hub or catheter. A hub having a hub taper is also disclosed. The hub taper may be configured to retain the introducer within the hub in some embodiments.

This invention relates to a measuring device, which includes a body. A digital display is located in the body, the digital display being configured to show at least a linear measurement. The measuring device also includes a holding portion coupled to the body and configured to slidably engage an elongate member, such as a catheter or introducer sheath, in a space provided between the holding portion and the body. The measuring device also includes a sensor or transducer located in the body and configured to measure at least a linear distance traveled by the elongate member, such that the linear measurement is associated with the linear distance.
