A helmet mount for night vision apparatus including a night vision goggle rotatable between operative and inoperative positions. Retractable stop means are included on the mount for obstructing the rotation of the goggle from its inoperative to operative position without obstructing the rotation of the goggle from its operative to its inoperative position.

Night vision goggle mount with retractable stops

A night vision device is disclosed. The device includes a housing that houses an intensifier tube and a proximity sensor mounted on the housing. An ON/OFF switch is operatively coupled to the intensifier tube and to the proximity sensor such that operation of the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position automatically activates the proximity sensor. A method of operating the night vision device with the proximity sensor is also disclosed.

Proximity detector for night vision goggles shut-off

A device for adjusting the position of a lens along an optical axis of the lens. The device has a lens housing for carrying the lens and a first knob positioned to rotate about the lens housing. A second knob is cooperatively threaded to the first knob such that rotation of the first knob relative to the second knob causes axial movement of the lens housing along the optical axis. A coupler couples the lens housing to the second knob to prevent the lens housing from rotating relative to the second knob when the first knob is rotated.
