A water flow management system () is disclosed including a valve (), the valve () being adapted to communicate with at least one water flow detector () and a set of water usage products (), wherein the water flow detector () is for detecting water flow to the set of water usage products (). The valve includes a processor () that is arranged to determine: an operational status of the set of water usage products (), a water flow status of the water flow detector (), and whether, on the basis of the operational status and the water flow status, the water flow to the set of water usage products () requires alteration. The processor () is adapted to operate the valve () to effect the required alteration.

The invention relates to a urinal system (), a water consumer system having such a urinal system, and a method for operating a urinal system. A water management method for controlling at least one operational parameter of at least one water control device, wherein the operational parameter is associated with water used by the water control device, the method comprising: sending, from an electronic controller of the water control device, operational data associated with the operational parameter to an embedded electronic device; receiving, at the embedded electronic device, the operational data, and developing control data based on the received operational data and sending the control data to the electronic controller; and receiving, at the electronic controller, the control data and controlling the operational parameter of the water control device based on the received control data.
