Osteotomy tools and procedures are provided that include a sets of guides in which pins are placed through conduits in the guides with a close tolerance and into the bone at predetermined angles. One pin is placed at a correction angle subtending from one of a pair of parallel pins placed across an osteotomy site. After the osteotomy is completed, a bone correction is achieved by rotating the pin at the correction angle to be parallel to the one of the parallel pins located across the osteotomy site. A parallel pin guide is placed over these two pins to maintain the bone correction and stabilize the osteotomy, allowing fixation of the corrected bone segments.

Osteotomy guide and method of using the same

A job site monitoring system includes a tower-mounted scanner that is situated to monitor all or substantially all of a particular construction site. The scanner is configured to provide data to a processor configured to determine the height of fill material deposited at a job site. The processor is adapted to communicate with a remote client who can review the data collected at the job site. The processor may also be configured to compare the live fill height data to predetermined parameters to determine whether an error condition exists. An alert may be issued upon detection of such an error to enable corrective action to be taken before construction continues at the site.

An apparatus for reducing propagation of cracks in concrete includes a curved panel. The curved panel includes a convex surface and a concave surface facing away from one another and separated by a thickness. Each of the convex and concave surfaces has a top edge, a bottom edge, a first end, and a second end. Each of the convex and concave surfaces is configured to be arranged in direct contact with the concrete. The curved panel further includes a top surface extending between the top edges of the convex and concave surfaces. The top surface is substantially planar and substantially perpendicular to the convex and concave surfaces. The curved panel further includes a bottom surface extending between the bottom edges of the convex and concave surfaces. The bottom surface is substantially planar and substantially parallel to the top surface.

Method and apparatus for reducing propagation of cracks in concrete

The present invention provides a method of isolating a selected reservoir zone in a subterranean reservoir comprising at least the step of squeezing a treatment fluid into the selected reservoir zone, the treatment fluid comprising: a viscosifying agent; a fluid loss control agent; and a particulate material. The invention further provides a treatment fluid comprising a base fluid; a viscosifying agent; at least 20 kg/mof a fluid loss control agent; and a particulate material.

Method for reducing permeability of a subterranean reservoir

A precast concrete road repair panel is configured to be received in a prepared portion of an existing road under repair. Openings are provided throughout the panel for introducing grout or other similar composition to fix the precast panel in place on the road sub-base. The panel is further provided with a leveling plate system that includes one or more sleeves embedded within corresponding openings in the panel and accessible at the upper surface of the panel. The leveling plate system includes a base plate for positioning on the road sub-base, the base plate including a post telescopingly disposed within the sleeve. A power cylinder engages the sleeve and includes a piston operable to bear against the post to adjust the height and level of the panel.

Leveling plate apparatus for a road repair system

A precast concrete road repair panel is configured to be received in a prepared portion of an existing road under repair. The underside of the panel is textured to receive a grout or other settable composition suitable to affix the repair panel to the existing road sub-base or underlayment. The panel is provided with leveling plates that can be adjusted to ensure that the top surface of the repair panel is flush with the existing road surface. Openings are provided throughout the panel for introducing grout or other similar composition to fix the precast panel in place. Dowels, rods or rebar may be incorporated into the junction between adjacent precast panels or between the precast panel and the existing road surface.

An improved device and method for the application of adhesive-backed foil to the edges of stained glass and other materials is provided, the device comprising a groove comprising three or five segments&#x2014;a base segment against which the glass edge is pressed onto the adhesive face of the foil; and second and third segments comprising sides extending upward from the base at an obtuse angle. Alternatively, the groove may comprise fourth and fifth segments comprising parallel sides extending vertically from the second and third segments and these being perpendicular to the base. The edge of the glass to be foiled is centered on the adhesive side of the foiling tape and pressed to the base. The angled sides initiate folding of the foil towards the side faces of the glass such that no tearing or distortion of the foil results.

Applicator and method for applying wrapping to edges of materials

A method of increasing the fracture resistance of a low permeability formation that includes emplacing a wellbore fluid in a wellbore through the low permeability formation, the wellbore fluid comprising: a settable carrier fluid; and a solid particulate bridging material; increasing the pressure in the wellbore such that fractures are formed in the formation; allowing the settable carrier fluid to enter the fractures; bridging and sealing the mouths of the fractures to form a substantially impermeable bridge proximate the mouth of the fractures thereby strengthening the formation; and holding the increased pressure for an amount of time sufficient for setting of the carrier fluid in the fractures is disclosed.

Method and apparatus for fluid loss measurements of wellbore fluids

A mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) system includes a vertically oriented wall offset from an earthen feature, backfill disposed between the wall and the earthen feature, and a plurality of anchor elements attached at one end to the wall and extending from the wall toward the earthen feature. The plurality of anchor elements are embedded within the backfill and include an elongated strap having an attachment end configured for attachment to the MSE wall and opposite surfaces along the length thereof. The anchor element further includes a plurality of punched openings along the length of the strap, each opening including a punched tab projecting outward from one of the opposite surfaces.

The concepts disclosed herein provide for a concrete mold that improves upon existing concrete molds known in the art. The hinged side-panel members that are locked to a hold-down frame allow for the mold to cure a concrete member, and then allow the concrete member to be removed without the need to break-down the frame surrounding the concrete member. During the pouring and ensuing curing process of the concrete member, the hinged side-panel members are secured to the hold-down frame and to each other in order to hold the concrete in the mold. Once the concrete is cured, the hinged side-panel members may be unlocked and opened quickly, allowing for expedient removal of the concrete member. After closing and re-locking the hinged side-panel members, the mold may be reused to cure another concrete member without the need to rebuild the frame around the mold.

A plurality of identical panels are pre-cast in a mold for use in forming a noise abatement wall, particularly between a residential neighborhood and a highway.
