A heat transfer pad includes a bladder and a pad port. The bladder has an outside perimeter, an inner face and an outer face enclosing a bladder interior. The pad port has a tubing segment with a proximal end which extends through the outside perimeter of the bladder into the bladder interior. A port seal is formed by bonding the inner and outer faces of the bladder to the proximal end of the tubing segment at a port bond point distal to the outside perimeter of the bladder in the bladder interior. The proximal end of the tubing segment is maintained unbonded to the inner and outer faces of the bladder between the port seal and the outside perimeter of the bladder, thereby defining a strain relief section of the bladder which resists occlusion of the pad port.

A shoulder stabilizing restraint which includes a pillow and a forearm wrap. The pillow has an arcuately-configured posterior face for engaging an anterior quadrant of a torso on a first side of a user. The pillow also has a flat forearm engagement face for engaging a forearm on the first side of the user. The forearm engagement face is preferably converges with the posterior face at a posterior/lateral convergence which is positionable proximal to a lateral border of the torso on the first side of the user. The forearm wrap is fastenable to the pillow to retain the forearm in engagement with the forearm engagement face and the shoulder joint at a positive external rotation angle.

An integrated infusion and aspiration system includes a flow control system and a catheter assembly. The catheter assembly includes an infusion catheter and an aspiration catheter, each having ports located at the distal end of thereof. The distal ends of the catheters are separated so that the aspiration catheter ports can be positioned on an opposing side of a surgical wound site from the infusion catheter ports. Methods of operation of the integrated infusion and aspiration system provide for uninterrupted aspiration with concurrent controlled delivery of an infusion solution such that the infusion solution is substantially evenly dispersed of over the wound site.

Integrated infusion and aspiration system and method

A continuous passive motion device is provided having specific application to rehabilitative treatment of the elbow or shoulder. The device includes a motorized winch displacable in a first or second direction, a cord suspended from the winch by a variable extension length, which increases when the winch is displaced in the first direction and decreases when the winch is displaced in the second direction, and an arm harness associated with the cord. An arm of a patient is suspended from a suspension point on the cord and the motorized winch is activated to alternately displace the winch in the first and second directions, thereby providing a plurality of repetitive treatment cycles. Each treatment cycle moves the suspension point and correspondingly the elbow or shoulder from a lower treatment limit to an upper treatment limit and back to the lower treatment limit.

A kinesthetic diagnostic and rehabilitation device enables the user to measure the extent of kinesthetic impairment resulting from a bodily injury, particularly an injury to the lower limbs, and also enables the user to rehabilitate the injury. The device is provided with a rigid platform resting atop an unstable support. The ability of the patient to maintain a fixed position on the platform as a function of the instability of the support enables quantification of the patient's kinesthetic impairment. The device further provides rehabilitative exercise.
