We describe a method for reducing a parasitic resistance at an interface between a conducting electrode region and an organic semiconductor in a thin film transistor, the method comprising: providing a solution comprising a dopant for doping said semiconductor, and depositing said solution onto said semiconductor and/or said conducting electrode region to selectively dope said semiconductor adjacent said interface between said conducting electrode region and said semiconductor, wherein depositing said solution comprises inkjet-printing said solution.

Doping organic semiconductors

A method of fabricating an organic electronic device using ink jet printing in swathes, comprises depositing an ink into a first set of locations in a column in a first print pass; wherein the first set of locations is less than a total number of locations in the column; and depositing an ink into a second set of locations in the column in a subsequent print pass; wherein the second set of locations is less than a total number of locations in the column. Preferably the number of nozzles used to fill all locations in a column is equal to the number of print passes needed to print the column. All locations in the swathe are printed after all print passes using a regular repeating randomized pattern, such that be ensured that print locations are not under filled, or over filled.

Method for ink jet printing organic electronic devices

An organic light emissive device, which comprises: an anode; a cathode; and an organic light emissive region between the anode and the cathode, which region comprises a polymeric electroluminescent material; wherein the emission from the polymeric electroluminescent material is color shifted by the presence of a color shifting unit in the polymer.

Light emissive device

An electronic device comprising: an electronic substrate comprising circuit elements; a double bank well-defining structure disposed over the electronic substrate, the double bank well-defining structure comprising a first layer of insulating material and a second layer of insulating material thereover, the second layer of insulating material having a lower wettability than the first layer of insulating material; and organic semiconductive material disposed in wells defined by the double bank well-defining structure.

Electronic devices and methods of making the same using solution processing techniques

A method of making an electronic device comprising a double bank well-defining structure, which method comprises: providing an electronic substrate; depositing a first insulating material on the substrate to form a first insulating layer; depositing a second insulating material on the first insulating layer to form a second insulating layer; removing a portion of the second insulating layer to expose a portion of the first insulating layer and form a second well-defining bank; depositing a resist on the second insulating layer and on a portion of the exposed first insulating layer; removing the portion of the first insulating layer not covered by the resist, to expose a portion of the electronic substrate and form a first well-defining bank within the second well-defining bank; and removing the resist. The method can provide devices with reduced leakage currents.
