A front projection display device is provided including an image-generating source configured to generate an image, a wide angle lens system adapted to receive the image, and a screen. The wide angle lens system may be configured to increase distortion of the image in a first stage and decrease distortion of the image in a second stage. The screen may be configured to receive the image from the wide angle lens system on a first side and reflect the image back to a viewer on the first side. In another embodiment, a screen is provided for a front projection system, the screen may be configured to receive light from a steep angle and may include any number of surface topographies configured to reflect light back to the viewer along a desired viewing plane.

Micro-electromechanical display device ('MDD')-based multimedia projectors () of this invention employ an arc lamp (), a color modulator (), and anamorphic illumination systems () for optimally illuminating a MDD () to improve projected image brightness. MDDs employ off-axis illumination wherein incident and reflected light bundles are angularly separated about a hinge axis () and the MDD is illuminated by the anamorphic illumination systems of this invention having a slow f/# parallel to the hinge axis and a faster f/# perpendicular to the hinge axis. The resulting anamorphic light bundles () illuminate and reflect more light into and off the MDD and through a fast f/# projection lens.

Classifying kits useful in separating gold, other precious metals, gems, collectable rocks, fossils, and archaeological artifacts from earth material. Classifying sieves and other parts of the classifying kits herein are configured to be used within a bucket and can readily be removable therefrom. Depending on the parts used and the goals of a user, the kits herein can be used with dry sifting methods or with water.

Classifying kits

A paint pan has a generally rectangular box shape and an inclined rub plate extends down into the pan from a front wall. A partial roof extends from the top edge of the back wall, and a partial opening is formed generally above the rub plate and between the top edge of the front wall and the partial roof. When the pan is in a 'use' position, paint may be poured into the pan through the partial open roof and it will flow to the floor. The pan is dimensioned so that a roller brush may be inserted through the partial opening to the floor of the pan beneath the partial roof. A handle is provided on the front wall and when the pan is lifted by the handle, paint flows into a storage volume defined in part by the floor, a left wall, a right wall, the back wall and partial roof.

An image display device including a plurality of laser light sources arranged to produce angularly offset beams of light, and scanning optics configured to raster scan the angularly offset beams of light simultaneously across separate parallel lines of pixels of a display surface to form an image, wherein each beam of light scans substantially the entire display surface.

Color laser image generation

A reconfigurable projection-screen system. The projection-screen system includes a flexible screen and a frame assembly. The flexible screen includes a screen perimeter and a viewing region interior the screen perimeter. The frame assembly includes a plurality of frame members, where at least some of the plurality of frame members include a screen perimeter engaging portion. The plurality of frame members are selectively arrangeable in at least an assembled viewing configuration and a disassembled configuration. In the assembled viewing configuration the plurality of screen perimeter engaging portions extend the screen perimeter and hold the viewing region substantially flat. In the disassembled configuration the plurality of screen perimeter engaging portions allow the viewing region to fold.

Reconfigurable projection-screen system

A projection system that projects a text or subtitle box onto an image minimizes the contrast between the text box and the image. A transition region surrounding the text box minimizes visual disruption to the image onto which the text box is projected. The positions of optical elements of a text projector enable the text box to gradually fade out. The text projector has a lamp that defines an object plane and a light path modifier. The light path modifier is offset from the object plane, toward the lamp to blend the borders of the text box into the image projected by an image projector.

Illumination field blending for use in subtitle projection systems

A rear projection display device is provided. In an embodiment, the display device includes a laminate screen including a microstructure lamina having a non-planar input surface, a substantially planar output surface and a first index of refraction. The laminate screen further may include a diffusion screen lamina having a substantially planar input surface, an output surface and a second index of refraction. The diffusion screen lamina may be in optical communication with the microstructure lamina. Moreover, the planar output surface of the microstructure lamina and the planar input surface of the diffusion screen lamina may be in facing relationship.

A lens system for forming a final image of an object, said system having an object side and an image side and forming a first intermediate real image between the object and final image, said system comprising a moving lens group containing the intermediate real image as the magnification of the final image is changed. The lens system is configured as a whole system so that optical aberrations at the intermediate real image, including field curvature, focus, astigmatism, distortion and color separation, are allowed to be of substantially greater magnitude than the corresponding optical aberrations of the final image.

A laser system. The laser system includes a first laser device configured to emit a first laser beam, a second laser device configured to emit a second laser beam, and a third laser device configured to emit a third laser beam. The laser system also includes a laser combiner configured to receive the first, second, and third laser beams and output the first, second, and third laser beams with less separation downstream of the laser combiner than upstream of the laser combiner.
