A method of inserting a spinal stabilization system into a patient generally comprises inserting a first positioning tool through a first location on a patient's skin and along a path generally toward a first vertebral anchor, coupling an end of the first positioning tool to the first vertebral anchor, positioning at least a portion of a delivery device over a connecting element, and inserting the delivery device and the connecting element through the patient's skin at the first location and along at least a portion of the first positioning tool. The first positioning tool is configured to facilitate directing the delivery device and connecting element generally toward a second vertebral anchor within the patient's body.

System and method for insertion of flexible spinal stabilization element

Embodiments of a tamper-proof adapter can be configured to provide interconnection of medical tubing or other devices with varying fitting or coupling types. In one embodiment, the adapter can permanently couple a first male Luer fitting to a second male ISO 80639-6 compliant fitting.

Tamper-proof connector/adapter devices and related methods

In one embodiment, a spinal stabilization apparatus includes a vertebral anchor having a head portion and a bone attachment portion. An elongate, flexible guide is removably coupled to the head portion of the vertebral anchor and has a channel extending longitudinally thereof and communicating with a slot in the head portion of the anchor. An elongate cord may be received within the channel to facilitate inserting and securing a spacer between pairs of anchors installed into adjacent vertebrae of a person's spine.

Retractable battery booster cables adapted to be mounted on an automobile and including a structure for connection to the battery of the automobile in which the booster cables are mounted and a spring wound reel to maintain the battery booster cables in compact, stored condition with the cables being easily extended for use in boosting either the battery in the automobile in which the booster cables are mounted or a battery in an adjacent automobile. The retractable battery booster cables include a housing for the spring wound reel and a unique structure for electrically connecting the cables connected to the battery to the extendable and retractable booster cable. Additionally, the booster cables are provided with an alternate arrangement for connection to an adjacent vehicle with the alternate arrangement including a battery clamp arrangement or a plug-in type of connector.

A video viewfinder system according to the preferred teachings of the present invention is shown for use with a camera of a standard design. The video viewfinder system includes video monitors for displaying derived images from a video camera of a primary image formed by the lens of the camera to allow the photographer to view the primary image formed by the camera lens at locations remote from the camera. Specifically, the video viewfinder system of the preferred form includes a viewfinder hood secured to the camera having a ground glass located at its first end for forming the primary image by the camera lens and with the video camera located at its second end and aimed at the primary image. To provide more uniform brightness of the derived image, a fresnel lens is associated with the ground glass for concentrating the outgoing light rays from the ground glass to the video camera and an anti-vignetting filter having gradating density from its center outward is provided for selectively absorbing the outgoing light rays from the ground glass to the video camera.
