A bushing for a track assembly includes a tubular bushing substrate having a longitudinal length and an outer surface. The outer surface includes at least one flat portion. The bushing also includes at least one white iron member. The at least one white iron member includes a flat inner surface, and the flat inner surface of the at least one white iron member is fixed to the flat portion of the outer surface of the tubular bushing substrate.

Track assembly bushing having a wear member

A high temperature alloy is disclosed. The high temperature alloy may have on a weight basis: about 9.0-10.0 weight % of Co, about 0.25 weight % maximum of Fe, about 8.0-9.0 weight % of Cr, about 4.75-5.50 weight % of Al, about 1.0-1.5 weight % of Ti, about 0-2.0 weight % of Mo, about 6.0-9.0 weight %, of W, about 0.12-0.18 weight % of C, about 0.01-0.03 weight % of Zr, about 0.005-0.015 weight % of B, about 0.5-1.5 weight % of Ta, a balance of Ni, and incidental impurities.

High temperature alloy for casting engine valves

A poppet valve has an elongated stem that is configured to extend along a longitudinal axis. The poppet valve further includes a valve body that is disposed laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis and located in a spaced apart relation with an end of the elongated stem. The valve body has a pair of opposing faces disposed co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the elongated stem. The poppet valve also includes at least two arcuately shaped appendages depending downwardly from the end of the elongated stem and extending away from the longitudinal axis of the elongated stem. An end of each appendage is disposed in abutment with an annular region defined on one of the opposing faces of the valve body, a perimeter of the annular region being larger than a perimeter of the elongated stem measured about the longitudinal axis.

Poppet valve for an internal combustion engine

An alloy for cladding cast iron is disclosed. The alloy may include on a weight basis, about 6.2% to about 9.3% of chromium (Cr), about 3.0% to about 4.5% of iron (Fe), about 1.4% to about 2.15% of silicon (Si), about 0.5% to about 0.8% of boron (B), about 0.1% of carbon (C), and a balance of nickel (Ni) and incidental impurities.

Alloy for cast iron repair

A valve for use in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The valve includes a stem friction welded to a head portion. The head portion is cast from a single crystal metal using a casting process that creates little or no grain boundaries. The single crystal metal can be a nickel based superalloys such as CMSX-4, CMSX 3, Rene N5, and Rene N6. By having little or no grain boundaries, defects that occur in other types of casting material, such as large numbers of grain boundaries can be minimized. This allows the head portion and particularly the combustion face to withstand an operating temperature in the combustion chamber in excess of 850&#xb0; C.

Single crystal engine valve

A method of salvaging a used, damaged turbocharger compressor housing involving the steps of machining the damaged interior surface of the housing, grit blasting the machined surface, building up the machined surface with coating material, and final machining the interior surface to its original specifications. The method includes holding the compressor housing by key datums during the machining steps.
