The battery housing assembly, connected to a support shaft assembly of a string trimmer, includes a base housing member defining a chamber configured to receive a battery therein. The base housing member includes a frontal member configured to engage a front of the battery, a top member extending from the frontal member, configured to engage the top portion of the battery, and a bottom member, configured to engage a bottom portion of the battery. A first side member is configured to be removably connected to a first side of the base housing member; and a second side member configured to be removably connected to a second side of the base housing member.

String trimmer battery housing assembly

An adjustable guard assembly is connected to a head assembly of a string trimmer. The adjustable guard assembly includes a housing. The housing includes a mounting portion, which connects to a motor case. The housing further includes a deck portion, which extends from the mounting portion. The deck portion has a proximal end and a distal end. A first skirt member extends along and downward from the distal end of the deck portion in a generally radially outward direction. A first blade assembly includes a first blade member, provided in the interior of the first skirt member, to engage a rotating string member.

String trimmer with adjustable guard assembly

The adjustable guard assembly is connected to a head assembly of a string trimmer. The adjustable guard assembly includes a housing. The housing includes a mounting portion, which connects to a motor case. The housing further includes a deck portion, which extends from the mounting portion. The deck portion has a proximal end and a distal end. A first skirt member extends along and downward from the distal end of the deck portion in a generally radially outward direction. A first blade assembly includes a first blade member, provided in the interior of the first skirt member, to engage a rotating string member.

A no-back assembly includes a first disc coupled to a first shaft and arranged radially outward of the first shaft. Also included is a first brake arranged radially outward of the first disc. Further included is a spring adjacent the first brake. Yet further included is a second disc coupled to a second shaft and arranged radially outward of the second shaft. Also included is a second brake arranged radially outward of the second disc. Further included is at least one pin operatively coupling the first brake and the second brake to a housing of the no-back assembly, a gain reduction spring disposed within a recess of the housing, and a piston disposed in contact with the gain reduction spring and a first side of the pin, wherein the gain reduction spring biases the piston against the first side of pin, wherein the pin is biased against the housing.

Cone brake no-back assembly with gain reduction spring and method

A clamp arrangement for securing an accessory to an oscillating power tool can include a clamp assembly including a first clamp member that moves relative to the accessory between a closed position wherein the clamp assembly retains the accessory and an open position wherein the first clamp is offset from the accessory permitting removal of the first accessory from the clamp assembly. The clamp assembly can further comprise a second clamp member having a first portion that opposes the first clamp member and cooperates with the first clamp member to clamp the accessory between the first and second clamp members. An attachment plate can carry the clamp assembly. The attachment plate can have a first mating detail formed thereon that is configured to selectively and removably mate with a complementary second mating detail on the power tool in an assembled position.

Oscillating tool attachment feature

A power tool constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure can include a repositionable tool accessory. The repositionable tool accessory can be selectively coupled to a first mounting structure on the tool. The repositionable tool accessory can include a tool accessory housing, a rod, a roller, and a locking knob. The tool accessory housing can define a first rod opening and include engaging structure that is configured to cooperatively mate with the first mounting structure. The rod can slidably translate along the first rod opening. The roller can be rotatably coupled to a distal portion of the rod. The locking knob can be movable between an unlocked position wherein the rod is freely translatable along the first rod opening to locate the roller at different locations relative to the output member, and a lock position wherein the rod is fixed relative to the tool accessory housing.

Oscillating tools and accessories

An electric fail-safe is operable to move a first ramp between distinct positions. The first ramp is associated with the second ramp. There are balls intermediate the first and second ramps. When the electric fail-safe brake is in an actuated condition, the second ramp forces stationary brake disks to engage rotating brake disks which rotate with a shaft to cause braking of the shaft. There is a keeper associated with the second ramp which abuts a stop surface to limit the amount of torque applied to the rotary and stationary disks after a predetermined amount of braking force has occurred. A brake with a test switch is also disclosed.

A clamp arrangement for releasably securing an accessory to an oscillating power tool can include a tool body including a motor that drives an output member. A clamp assembly can include a first clamp member that moves relative to the accessory between a closed position wherein the clamp assembly retains the accessory and an open position wherein the first clamp member of the clamp assembly is offset from the accessory permitting removal of the accessory from the clamp assembly. A lever can have a user engagement portion and a pivot portion including a pivot axle. The lever can be pivotally coupled to the tool body about the pivot axle between a first position, wherein the clamp assembly is in the closed position and a second position wherein movement of the user engagement portion of the lever causes the clamp assembly to be moved to the open position.

Oscillating tool

Disclosed is a cone brake no-back for use with an actuation system. The actuation system may be an aircraft actuation system, for example. The no-back may include cone brakes capable of preventing undesired displacement of an aircraft surface (such as a flap, a leading edge, or a trailing edge of a wing) in the event that an actuator input becomes disconnected or is otherwise insufficient to oppose the load created by the aircraft surface.

A disclosed sensor assembly for detecting movement and a position of a wing flap includes a sensing device that generates a signal corresponding to a position of the flap. The sensor assembly includes a linkage that is attached to the movable flap for mechanically communicating movement of the flap to the sensing device. The linkage includes a first pivot shaft mounted to the flap that is disposed about a first axis and a second pivot shaft attached to the first pivot shaft for movement about a second axis transverse to the first axis.

A brake position sensor unit includes a unitary brake shaft that transmits braking torque to a article to be slowed, connects directly to a brake unit, connects to a resolver and has a plurality of planetary gears rotating thereabout to activate a sensor when the brake unit is set.

A holesaw mandrel assembly has a mandrel body with a first end to be coupled with a drill motor and a second end extending from the body. The second end receives a holesaw. A housing covers a portion of the mandrel. A first member is coupled with the housing and moves between a first and second position. A friction surface is on the first member. The friction surface is adapted to contact the holesaw such that upon contact with the friction surface, the holesaw is fixed in position. The friction surface moves between a first contact position and a second release position. A mechanism coupled with the housing moves the friction face between the first and second positions.

Push button holesaw mandrel assembly

A holesaw mandrel assembly has a mandrel body with a first end to be coupled with a drill motor and a second end extending from the body. The second end receives a holesaw. The first member is positioned on the second end. The first member is axially movable on the second end. A friction surface is on the first member. The friction surface is adapted to contact a base surface of the holesaw such that upon contact with the friction surface, the holesaw is fixed in position. The friction surface moves between a first contact position and a second release position. A mechanism on the first member moves the friction surface between the first and second position.

A holesaw mandrel assembly has a mandrel with a first shanking end, a body, and a second extending end which includes a threaded spud to receive a holesaw. A first member is secured on the second end. The first member is axially slidable on the second end. The first member also includes a friction surface to contact the holesaw. The friction surface moves between a first contacting position and a second release position. A mechanism on the mandrel moves the friction surface between the first and second positions.
