A rotary transducer is described. The rotary transducer includes a Hall effect sensor, a rotary dial comprising at least two recessed pockets, a first magnet that is positioned within one of the at least two recessed pockets, and a second magnet that is positioned within another one of the at least two recessed pockets. In an acceleration only mode, the rotary dial is rotatable from a center position in a first direction and is not rotatable from the center position in a second direction. This mode is selected when a mode selection screw is inserted into a mode selection orifice. In a bi-directional acceleration/deceleration mode, the rotary dial is rotatable from the center position in the first direction and is rotatable from the center position in the second direction. This mode is selected when the mode selection screw is not inserted into the mode selection orifice.

Devices and methods for enhancing forward error correction techniques for communications using chirp spread spectrum are disclosed. Systems, devices, and methods for error correction coding and decoding are described. On the coding side, K bits of data are sequentially loaded into an M bit by N bit (M×N) matrix in a first direction as Q sequences of D bits, each D bit row of data in the M×N matrix is coded with an error correction code to generate an M bit row of coded data, each Q bit column in the M×N matrix is coded with the error correction code to generate N bits of coded data, N sequences of M bits are sequentially unloaded from the M×N matrix in a second direction, and a chirp signal is generated having a plurality of chirps.

Forward error correction for chirp spread spectrum

A chirp spread spectrum (CSS) receiver may reject, based on multiple data alignment chirps that includes an attribute identifier that is a mismatch to one or more preconfigured identifiers, a message early and before fully receiving/decoding the message. The multiple data alignment chirps may enable usage of a larger range of IDs than a single chirp signal. A receiver may receive a sequence of training chirps for symbol alignment followed by multiple opposite chirps for data alignment. Training chirps may be processed through a fast-Fourier transform (FFT) and the resulting values accumulated until a threshold is exceeded. Using symbol alignment from the training chirps, the receiver may decode multiple opposite chirps that indicate data alignment and comprise an encoded identifier. The receiver may reject the message and terminate further message processing based on the encoded identifier being a mismatch to preconfigured identifiers or attributes indicated by the encoded identifier.

Multiple chirp data alignment with early message rejection for chirp spread spectrum

Data acquisition in a chirp spread spectrum (CSS) signal may use a data alignment indicator of a single down chirp signal or single upchirp signal. A receiver may receive part or all of a preamble comprising a sequence of training chirps for symbol alignment followed by a single opposite chirp for data alignment. Training chirps may be processed through a fast-Fourier transform (FFT), and the values from the FFT may be accumulated. The accumulated values may exceed a threshold for detection. The receiver may align, based on the received chirps of the preamble and exceeding the threshold, its symbol reception. Using this symbol alignment, the receiver may await a single opposite chirp after the sequence of training chirps. The single opposite chirp may indicate data alignment. Upon receipt of the opposite chirp, the receiver may start data acquisition based on chirps following the single opposite chirp.

Systems, devices and methods for enhancing error correction decoding for communications using chirp spread spectrum are disclosed. A chirp signal having a plurality of chirps is received, a codeword is identified based on at least one of the plurality of chirps, a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) associated with at least a portion of the codeword is identified, at least one decoding threshold is adjusted based on the identified RSSI, and the codeword is decoded using the adjusted at least one decoding threshold.

Threshold driven error correction for chirp spread spectrum

A system for a redundant star network is disclosed. The system consists of a control hub, one or more backup hubs, and at least one peripheral device (PD), the peripheral device comprising a housing having at least one selectable side transparent or opaque to radio frequency (RF) transmissions while the remaining sides are opaque to RF transmissions. The control hub controls the PD, for example by controlling how the PD operates under certain conditions. The PD includes a long-range, wireless transceiver and a microcontroller, which includes instructions for periodically testing, via test signals, whether the control hub is functional. In the case that the control hub does not respond to the test signals, the PD includes instructions for switching control of the PD to the backup hub, which also stores control instructions for the PD, similar to the control hub.

Redundant network system

There is disclosed a system and method for detecting potentially unauthorized access to an enclosure. The system and method use an input device, wherein the input device includes a user interface comprising a communication tilt plate with a front side and a back side. The front side comprising an outer touch surface and the back side includes electronic components mounted thereon. The back side also includes a raised center pivot and a plurality of spring loaded switches mounted thereon disposed around the periphery of the back side of the tilt plate. In this way, tilting the communication tilt plate by pressing proximate the periphery of the outer touch surface activates one or more of the spring-loaded switches mounted on the back side of the tilt plate and thereby transmit an access code to a control module. The system and method further include detecting movement of an access barrier of an enclosure and detecting whether a motor and or the access code was used to move the access barrier. The user is notified in the event the access barrier was moved without using the motor and or the access code.

System and method for detecting potentially unauthorized access to an enclosure

A broadband helical microstrip antenna having a small foot print is disclosed. A PCB (printed circuit board) has a first planar side opposite a second planar side with dielectric material therebetween. The first planar side comprising a plurality of spaced apart non-linear antenna segments, each non-linear antenna segment having one or more electrical vias to the second planar side of the printed circuit board. The second planar side comprising a plurality of spaced apart parallel linear antenna segments. The plurality of non-linear antenna segments and the plurality of linear antenna segments form the broadband helical microstrip antenna symmetrical about a center line formed by a centered linear antenna segment of the plurality of spaced apart parallel linear antenna segments of the second planar side.

A method for linking an event to video documenting the event is disclosed. Such a method includes detecting an event, wherein the event is one of (1) completion of a delivery; and (2) access to an enclosure. The method determines a first timing associated with the event and identifies video documenting the event by correlating the first timing with a second timing associated with the video. The method automatically provides, to a user, information to enable the user to view the video. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.

A broadband microstrip antenna formed on a printed circuit board has a first planar side comprising a plurality of electrically conductive planar v-shaped antenna segments, each v-shaped antenna segment comprising an open end formed by non-parallel sides and a closed end formed by an intersection of the non-parallel sides. The open end of each v-shaped antenna segment is electrically connected to one or more adjacent v-shaped antenna segments forming a series of electrically connected v-shaped antenna segments. The closed end of a centered v-shaped antenna segment provides a feed point for the one or more adjacent v-shaped antenna segments.

The invention is a method and device for normalizing communication. The method includes receiving on a first device a first message via a first protocol from a second device; transmitting a second message to a third device via a second protocol, wherein the second message is transmitted using a first spreading factor; initiating a delay timer upon transmitting the second message, wherein a duration of the delay timer is based on a second spreading factor, wherein the second spreading factor is greater than or equal to the first spreading factor; receiving a third message from the third device via the second protocol, wherein the third message is transmitted using the first spreading factor, and wherein the third message is in response to the second message; and upon the expiration of the delay timer, sending a fourth message to the second device via the first protocol. The device includes the hardware and instructions to perform the method.

A secure remote actuation system is described herein. The system may comprise a remote input receptor and a network. The remote input receptor may comprise a user interface for receiving user inputs from a user. The network may comprise a combination of computer systems interconnected by telecommunications equipment or cables allowing information to be exchanged. The network may also comprise a network device for obtaining the user inputs from the remote input receptor. The network device may comprise an internal memory unit. One or more acceptable inputs may be stored on the network. In the present invention, the network device obtains the user inputs from the remote input receptor while the user is using the user interface and then the network compares the user inputs to the acceptable inputs.

A secure remote actuation system is described herein that operates based on voice commands provided by a user and/or owner of the system. The system may include: a remote input receptor having a user interface for receiving one or more user inputs from a user, the user interface having a voice input processor, and the user inputs including vocalization; and a cloud-based network storing one or acceptable inputs and including a network device for obtaining said one or more user inputs from the remote input receptor. The network device may obtain said one or more user inputs from the remote input receptor while the user is using the user interface. The cloud-based network may compare said one or more user inputs to said one or more acceptable inputs. The voice input processor may include a microphone, a speaker, or both, and may perform various types of voice recognition.

Voice-controlled secure remote actuation system

A method and system are disclosed for delivering a package which includes an enclosure with a door. The door includes an access code input device, which has a tilt plate for entering a code. The method and system also include a mechanism for opening and closing the door and a controller, which is in communication with the access code input device, is proximate the door and includes an access code reader for controlling the mechanism. The method also includes the step of providing a package with a delivery label attached to the package having an access code comprising dimensions for the package to be delivered. The access code further includes instructions to partially move the door only for an amount of time needed to partially open the door from a closed position or partially close the door from an open position according to the dimensions of the package to only allow passage of the package.
