A disk drive thermal performance testing device includes a drive housing, an electrical connector and an adjustable power loading device. The drive housing is at least partially made of a thermally conductive material. The electrical connector is in the drive housing and provides an external connection. The adjustable power loading device is located in the drive housing, is coupled to the electrical connector, and is thermally coupled to the drive housing.

Disk drive thermal performance testing devices and methods thereof

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a frame configured to hold an electronic device. A back side of the frame includes a plurality of clips which are configured to receive a mounting rail. One or more retractable levers are attached at a first portion of each clip to prevent movement of the frame along the mounting rail. The frame includes a plurality of mounting apertures that are configured to receive the electronic device based on a plurality of mounting configurations. The frame is configured to attach onto the mounting rail via the clips in various orientations selected from the plurality of mounting configurations.

Configurable mounting bracket for mounting rail installations

A handle for removing, carrying or otherwise manipulating a device is disclosed. The handle includes features that allow it to engage the mounting rails on other mounting features associated with the device. The handle is constructed such that when properly installed, pulling the handle causes the mounting rails to move both in the direction of the pulling force and perpendicularly thereto, toward each other. This allows the mounting rails to clear security features of the larger assembly, device bay, or housing in which the device is mounted or rests. The handle may be constructed so that it is removable, either with or without removal of the mounting assemblies or mounting rails. Further, the handle may be constructed to allow a user access to the front of a device while the handle is installed.

Electronic component mounting assembly and portions thereof

An anti-tip device for a computer tower chassis. The anti-tip device includes a hub and a base foot that is mounted to the bottom surface of a tower chassis. The hub is fitted into an interior cavity of the base foot and provides the base foot with a foundation around which the base foot rotates. The hub itself is mounted to the tower chassis through a set of pins that ensure that the hub is kept stationary. The base foot includes an elongated foot and cavity for housing the hub. The interior circumference of the cavity includes a number of detents that define positions of the base foot. The hub includes a spring mechanism including a knob that is fitted to snap into a detent. As the base foot is rotated, the rotational force decompresses the spring so that it rides on the outer surface of the interior circumference of the base foot. When the spring mechanism encounters a detent, the spring mechanism compresses and forces the knob to snap into the detent thereby securely placing the base foot into the desired position.

Anti-tip device

An electronic system, such as a computer, having a housing with a door opening into an interior of the housing. An insertion mechanism is mounted on the door and includes a handle provided on an exterior side of the door and a driver portion provided on an interior side. The driver portion includes a rotatable latch driver attached to the handle and a rotatable latch follower engaging the latch driver through a set of gears. A movable mount is slideably mounted onto the door and a circuit board assembly is mounted onto the movable mount. After the door of the housing is closed, rotation of the handle causes rotation of the latch driver, which, in turn, causes rotation of the latch follower. The latch driver and follower engage the movable mount such that their rotation causes forward movement of the movable mount and the circuit board assembly. This forward movement causes an edge connector provided along a forward edge of the circuit board assembly to mate with a connection socket provided in an interior portion of the housing.

Circuit board mounting assembly and method

Described is a multi-module storage array including cabinets, each with a number of identical bays for receiving any of a set of replaceable, modular push-in/pull-out articles, each to be inserted into any bay, each including a carry-handle having an outer bar joining a pair of arms pivoted from opposite sides of the article so that the arm ends can be swung against a first stop to pry-in the article (into its bay) and can also be swung oppositely against a second stop to pry it out, with the handle also adapted to be automatically 'kicked-out' horizontal (to indicate readiness for removal) and being held horizontal unit reset.
