A rugged cable may be provided. The rugged cable may comprise a first layer, a second layer, and a third layer. The first layer may comprise fibers in which chain molecules comprising the fibers of the first layer are highly oriented along axis of the fibers of the first layer. The second layer may be around the first layer. The second layer may comprise metal. The third layer may be around the second layer. The third layer may comprise fibers in which chain molecules comprising the fibers of the third layer are highly oriented along axis of the fibers of the third layer.

Electrical accessories and associated methods of use and manufacture are shown and described. In one example embodiment, a system includes a plurality of electrical junction boxes. Each electrical junction box includes at least one wall with a pair of spaced-apart holes, wherein the holes are sized and shaped to receive a pair of corresponding mounting devices. The system also includes at least one mounting bracket. The mounting bracket includes a pair of spaced-apart mounting devices, wherein the mounting devices are sized and shaped to protrude through the pair of corresponding spaced-apart holes in the plurality of electrical junction boxes. At least one of the plurality of electrical junction boxes is maintained in a relative stationary position with respect to the at least one bracket when the pair of spaced-apart mounting devices protrudes through the respective pair of spaced-apart holes in the wall of the at least one electrical junction box.

Electrical accessories and associated methods of use and manufacture

Folded electrical junction boxes and associated methods of use and manufacture. In one embodiment, a method for manufacturing an electrical junction box can be provided. The method can include receiving a single sheet or roll of metal. The method can further include initiating a plurality of operations to form at least two electrical junction boxes from the single sheet or roll of metal. The operations can include forming at least one extruded threaded hole in a wall of one of the boxes; cutting the sheet or roll of metal to form a plurality of walls for the boxes; scoring a centerline in at least one surface of one of the boxes; and cutting at least one knockout in at least one wall of one of the boxes. Further, the method can include folding the plurality of walls to form at least one folded electrical junction box.

Folded electrical junction boxes and associated methods of use and manufacture

Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a finished cable by a process directed to reduce the amount of force required to install the cable. The process involves the extrusion of the cable's outer sheath and the incorporation of a pulling lubricant in connection with, and prior to the completion of, the extrusion to reduce the sheath's surface coefficient of friction as well as reduce the required force to pull the cable for installation. The conductor core is coated with an extruded plastic material with which an appropriate (in amount and type) pulling lubricant is initially combined with the plastic material prior to the formation of the sheath and in which the sheathed conductor core is thereafter cooled, the lubricant either migrating to and/or permeating the sheath to be available at the surface of the sheath at the time of the cable's installation. The preselected lubricant is disclosed as either combined with the plastic material during initial pelletization, or mixed with the plastic pellets prior to introduction of the mixture into the extruding head, or introduced into the extruding head at a separate location downstream from where the plastic material is introduced into the extruding head.

Method of manufacturing electrical cable

Electrical accessories and associated methods of use and manufacture. In one embodiment, a system includes a plurality of electrical junction boxes. Each electrical junction box includes at least one wall with a pair of spaced apart holes, wherein the holes are sized and shaped to receive a pair of corresponding mounting devices. The bracket includes a pair of spaced apart mounting devices, wherein the mounting devices are sized and shaped to protrude through the pair of corresponding spaced apart holes in the plurality of electrical junction boxes. The electrical cable includes a conductive outer sheath and a label disposed on the conductive outer sheath The label includes information about the cable and has at least one conductive region to facilitate electrical conductivity between the conductive outer sheath and the connector member.

A parallel conductor spool can support multiple independently rotating bays. The parallel conductor spool may be used to hold and pay-out materials. The parallel conductor spool can support independent rotation of the bays at differing rates to provide for paying-out conductors of varying sizes at different speeds. The parallel conductor spool may be formed of disposable or recyclable materials to reduce the cost and logistical complexity of returning the spool. A cable connector may be disclosed. The connector may include a connector housing having a first threaded portion and an insert having compression voids. The insert may be configured for insertion into the connector housing. The connector may also include a compression nut configured to engage the first threaded portion. The compression nut may be configured to compress the insert to close the compression voids when the compression nut engages the first threaded portion. The cable connector may also include an end stop having an adjustable throat diameter configured to adjust in proportion to an adjustable inner diameter of the cable connector as the connector engages or armor of an armored cable.

The present invention includes a cable having reduced surface friction and the method of manufacture thereof having steps in which a conductor wire is coated with a mixture of a plastic material and lubricating material and in which the coated conductor wire is cooled. The cable includes at least one conductor core and at least one coating of plastic material and incorporates a lubricating material in and/or on the plastic material. The equipment for the manufacturing of electrical cable includes a reel for supplying a conductor wire to an extruding head, which is connected to tanks containing plastic material and lubricating material for coating the conducting wire, and a reel for taking up the cable.

Electrical cable having a surface with reduced coefficient of friction

A power cable for use in high moisture and chemically corrosive environments has a longitudinally-folded sheath for encapsulating one or more electrical conductors. A plurality of overlapping folds at the longitudinal edges of the sheathing material creates a labyrinth-type sealing joint for maintaining moisture and gas integrity of the cable. A sealant is provided within the circumferential and radial spaces defined by the overlapping folds of the joint.
