A method can include receiving vibration signals responsive to an object forcibly contacting a location on a back surface of a display housing of a computing device; and, responsive to receipt of the vibration signals, performing at least one action via circuitry of the computing device, where the at least one action includes a user perceivable action.

Computing device

A system for preventing a voice activated response by a digital personal is provided. The system includes a digital personal assistant that has a memory storing program instructions. The system also includes one or more processors that, when executing the program instructions, are configured to identify an audible instruction based on a determined sound, and receive a block signal accompanying the determined sound. The one or more processors are also configured to prevent a response to the determined sound based on the block signal.

Methods and devices for preventing a sound activated response

A method can include receiving vibration signals responsive to an object contacting a location on a housing of a computing device; analyzing the vibration signals to determine the location; associating the location with a predetermined value; and transmitting the predetermined value.

A computing device can include a processor; memory accessible to the processor; a lithium-ion battery; a power interface; magnet control circuitry operatively coupled to at least the power interface for receipt of electrical power; and a housing for the processor, the memory, the battery, the power interface and the magnet control circuitry, where the housing includes a first shell, a second shell, and an electropermanent magnet assembly that generates a magnetic force that couples the first shell to the second shell, where the electropermanent magnetic assembly is controllable via the magnet control circuitry to decrease the magnetic force to decouple the first shell from the second shell.

One embodiment provides a method, the method including: receiving, at an information handling device with at least one instance of an application in use, a request to view a preview window for the at least one instance of the application; altering, utilizing the window preview system, the preview image of the at least one instance of the application from a default preview image to a unique preview image; and displaying, on a display device and utilizing the window preview system, the altered preview image to the user. Other aspects are claimed and described.

Unique window preview generation

Access to a system is permitted by first polling a low-power device/connection on a user device for a low-power multifactor authentication (MFA), and; refraining from polling a high-power device/connection on the user device for a high-power MFA. An indication is received from a user that the user would like to access the system. The low-power MFA is identified via the polling of the low-power device/connection, and the user is authenticated via the low-power MFA. After authenticating the user via the low-power MFA, the high-power device/connection is woken and polled for the high-power MFA. The high-power MFA is identified via the polling of the high-power device/connection, and the user is authenticated via the high-power MFA. Access to the system is permitted when the user has been authenticated using the low-power MFA and the high-power MFA.

Dynamic multifactor authentication using low-power and high-power monitoring

In one aspect, a first device may include at least one processor and storage accessible to the at least one processor. The storage may include instructions executable by the at least one processor to identify a context associated with the first device and identify a first group of applications associated with the context. While the context is ongoing, the instructions may be executable to allow the first group of applications to communicate with one or more other devices besides the first device and to disallow a second group of applications from communicating with one or more other devices besides the first device.

Allowance of application communication based on context

In one aspect, a laptop computer or other type of foldable computer may include a processor, a touch-enabled surface accessible to the processor, and storage accessible to the processor. The storage may include instructions executable by the processor to determine that, while the foldable computer is closed, a portion of the foldable computer has contacted the touch-enabled surface. Responsive to the determination, the instructions may be executable to execute at least one action at the foldable computer that is related to the portion contacting the touch-enabled surface while the foldable computer is closed.
