Systems and processes may provide improved performance for a pneumatic positioner during a safety override. In certain implementations, a system and process may include may include the ability to receive an input control signal, power control circuitry of the pneumatic positioner using the input control signal, and generate a control signal for a signal-to-pressure converter with the control circuitry based at least partially on the input control signal. The system and process may also include the ability to detect an unsafe operating condition for the pneumatic positioner based on an input signal and modify the control signal in response to detecting the unsafe operating condition, to cause the converter to transition to a safe state. The system and process may additionally include the ability to allow the control circuitry to continue being powered by the input control signal while the converter is in the safe state.

Safety override circuit for pneumatic positioner and method of use thereof

A high temperature dynamic seal and methods of assembly and use. The dynamic seal is provided as a rotating seal, which includes a stationary ring and rotating ring assembly, with a seal ring that is positioned between the stationary ring member and the rotating ring assembly. One or more high temperature seals create a seal between the stationary ring member and a device in which the dynamic seal is used. Similarly one or more high temperature seals create a seal between the rotating ring assembly and a rotating shaft of the device. One or more of the high temperature seals are formed from a metallic material with various cross-sectional shapes.

Systems and processes may provide improved performance for a pneumatic positioner during a safety override. A cable connector assembly is provided to eliminate or minimize dynamic durbance on the body shell surface of a vehicle in motion. The vehicle includes a body shell having a recessed portion which includes a cable connector receptacle and a connector housing. The connector housing does not protrude from the vehicle and is smooth with the body shell contour. The connector housing includes a female electrical connection portion. Adjacent the connector housing in the recessed portion of the body shell is a hinged closure plate which is controlled by a compression spring. When the vehicle is at rest, an electrical cable is connected to the connector housing and the closure plate is pushed into the recessed portion of the body shell. When the vehicle is put in motion, the closure plate spring decompresses to force the closure plate to close and seal the recessed portion of the body shell. The closure plate and the connector housing form a uniform and smooth surface which blends with the contour of the body shell.

Apparatus for launching a device from a vessel includes a launcher having a air of launch bay doors retractable within a launch bay, and first and second connection mechanisms for holding first and second ends of the device. The connection mechanisms extend the device partially out of the launch bay simultaneous with the retraction of the bay doors into the launch bay. The first connection mechanism releases the first end of the device while the second connection mechanism rotatably holds the second end of the device. This allows the device to rotate away from the launch bay until a preset position is reached at which point the second end of the device separates from the second connection mechanism allowing the device to move away from the launcher.
