Multiple harvester unloading system

A method and system for boosting a torque output of a drive train comprises an engine speed detector for detecting an engine speed of an engine having a baseline torque versus engine speed curve. A data processor determines if the detected engine speed is within a first range of engine speeds, if the detected engine speed is within the first range, the electric motor is activated to rotate substantially synchronously with the engine speed within the first range in an electric propulsion mode in accordance with a supplemental torque versus engine speed curve. The supplemental torque versus engine speed curve intercepts the baseline torque versus engine speed curve at a lower engine speed point and a higher engine speed point.

System and method for boosting torque output of a drive train

An agricultural harvester includes a support frame and a hopper coupled to the support frame. The hopper is configured to store an agricultural product during a harvesting operation. An unloading system is coupled to the support frame. The unloading system is configured to transport agricultural product received from the hopper to an off-machine location. The unloading system includes a metering gate, a transfer conveyance, at least one sensor, and an electrical processing circuit. The metering gate is positioned near a bottom of the hopper and in communication with an interior of the hopper. The transfer conveyance has an inlet end and a discharge end. The inlet end is in communication with the metering gate. The at least one sensor provides an output signal representing an operating parameter associated with an unload rate of agricultural product through the transfer conveyance during an unloading operation. The electrical processing circuit is coupled to the metering gate and the at least one sensor. The electrical processing circuit controls a position of the metering gate, dependent upon the output signal.

A harvesting machine including a frame, a plurality of ground engaging wheels, at least one grain separating section, a plurality of cross augers and a grain moving device. The plurality of ground engaging wheels support the frame. The at least one grain separating section is supported by the frame. The plurality of cross augers are positioned to receive grain from the at least one grain separating section. The plurality of cross augers each have an end. The grain moving device is associated with each of the plurality of cross augers proximate to the end of the plurality of cross augers.

Combine clean grain elevator system

An engine speed detector detects an engine speed of an engine having a baseline torque versus engine speed curve. A torque sensor detects an engine torque of the engine. A data processor determines if the detected engine speed is within a first speed range and if the detected engine torque is within a first torque range. A motor controller activates an electric motor to rotate substantially synchronously with a corresponding engine speed associated with the detected engine torque in an electric propulsion mode in accordance with a supplemental torque versus engine speed curve if the detected engine speed is within the first speed range and if the detected engine torque is within the first torque range. The supplemental torque versus engine speed curve intercepts the baseline torque versus engine speed curve at a lower speed point and a higher speed point.

A cleanout configuration is provided for a grain compartment on a harvesting apparatus. The grain compartment has walls that form a trough, and a vertically arranged auger that is supported on an auger casting located in a sump at a bottom of the trough. Wall portions, in the form of a unitary casting with the auger casting are adjacent to the auger casting and comprise cleanout openings covered by removable covers. The openings are in a grate pattern. The unitary casting can be a bridge member, which supports all, or a substantial amount of the weight of the unitary casting and the auger.

Grain compartment cleanout arrangement

A discharge chute for the unloading auger of a combine is provided with a discharge opening which provides maximum discharge flow rate and maximum clearance for moving and positioning of the auger. The discharge chute has an upper surface extending downwardly at a first angle relative to a horizontal plane, and a lower surface extending downwardly in a second angle relative to a horizontal plane. The first angle of the upper surface is greater than the second angle of the lower surface. The discharge chute also includes an internally mounted dribble door pivotal between raised and lowered positions. The door prevents grain dribble when in the upper position, and allows unobstructed grain discharge when in the lowered position.

Rigid cover panels of the cover for grain storage tubes on combines, harvesting machine, are preferably fabricated of double-wall plastic to limit weight of the cover while providing desired strength and rigidity. The rigid cover panels can be pivoted about top edges of an underlying grain tank whereby the cover panels function as a height extension of the underlying tank, thus to increase the grain-carrying capacity of the tank. Flexible transition panels are preferably mounted to the rigid cover panels to bridge spaces between edge regions of the rigid cover panels when the rigid cover panels are raised to their upright, tank-extending orientations. A preferably single underlying actuator in the tank, in combination with mechanical linkages, can simultaneously raise all the rigid cover panels, all the flexible transition panels, and the discharge end of a clean grain elevator which discharges grain into the tank.

A pivot mechanism for an unloader tube of a combine, having a pair of ultra high molecular weight pivot ring bushings which slide in contact with each other, are fixed to respective upper and lower portions of the unloader tube, and transmit weight of the unloader tube from the upper portion to the lower portion.
