An oxygen sensor for a gas, coal, oil or wood fired kiln that is orders of magnitude cheaper than the current state of the art oxygen sensors. It uses a TiOtip sintered between and bridging a 1 mm spacing between a pair of 22 gauge Nichrome&#xae; series 90 round annealed resistance wires (0.64 mm diameter and having 0.648 Ohms/ft resistance). The Nichrome&#xae; 90 wires do not contact each other. One of the wires is a signal wire that resides down the center of an insulating sheath and the other wire is a ground wire that is wound around the outside of a high temperature ceramic insulating sleeve. The sensor needs no temperature compensation and exhibits an approximate 50,000 ohms of resistance change from a neutral (ambient) atmosphere and a fully reduced atmosphere.

An acoustic module with a transducer and a solid waveguide. The transducer and waveguide may be curved to focus the acoustic energy along a focal line. The transducer, the top surface of the waveguide and the bottom surface of the waveguide may extend along coaxial curves. The waveguide may include a recess closely receiving the transducer. The waveguide may include an integral skirt that provides a thermal mass. The acoustic module may include a space to accommodate thermal management options. For example, the acoustic module may include a heatsink, an active ventilation system and/or a phase change material. The ultrasound device may include a controller configured to perform a uniformity scan sweep during supply of operating power to the transducer. The uniformity scan sweep can extend through a frequency range that includes the operating point of the acoustic module and does not exceed an acceptable efficiency loss.

A back belt including magnets, and a thermally active gel material to provide magnetic and thermal induced lower back pain relief. The magnets are arranged in multiple quadrapolar pods, which are secured to a contour-conforming, resilient support web. Preferably, an interior sheet sandwiches the pods and gel material between it and an exterior sheet in a cross-shaped array within the support web. In a more preferred embodiment, the belt includes a fastening strap that neatly secures excess belt by wrapping around the excess belt and drawing that excess against the remainder of the belt. In a preferred process of manufacturing the back belt, multiple quadrapolar magnet pods and the gel material are secured to a support web. Belt straps are secured to the support web. More preferably, a fastening strap is secured to at least one of the belt straps.
