A cassette seal is configured to seal a shaft within a housing. A shaft casing is annularly-shaped about a longitudinal axis and is configured to fixedly attach to the shaft, where the shaft casing is electrically conductive and configured to be in electrical conductivity with the shaft when attached to the shaft. A housing casing is annularly-shaped about the longitudinal axis and is configured to fixedly attach to the housing, where the housing casing is electrically conductive and configured to be in electrical conductivity with the housing when attached to the housing. A seal is disposed between the shaft and housing casing. At least one cantilevered flexural finger is attached fixedly attached to either the shaft casing or the housing casing and then in rotating abutment with the other. The at least one cantilevered flexural finger is electrically conductive and electrically connects the shaft casing to the housing casing.

Electrically grounding cassette seal

A seal for sealing a shaft, the seal including a seal body having an inner member, an outer member, and a connecting member connecting the inner member and the outer member. The seal also includes at least one spoke connected to the seal body. The at least one spoke is configured to stiffen the seal body.

Spoked rotary seal

A seal detection device includes at least one seal with an outer surface where the outer surface is partially made up of a lateral surface and an axial surface. The at least one seal is provided with at least one seal mark and is placed on the lateral surface or the axial surface of the at least one seal. The at least one seal may be further provided with a unique code and may be associated with relevant seal data such as seal material, date of installation, last maintenance date, next scheduled maintenance/replacement, material safety data sheet(s), etc.

Sealing detection system and method

A seal analysis system for measuring and analyzing a seal and a mating hardware configured to detect a defect and to analyze a condition of at least one of the seal and the mating hardware and includes a sensor and an electrical processing circuit. The sensor may be in a form of an optical inspection device, a laser scanner, a phone, or an ultrasound scanner. Additionally, the sensor may be provided to take a photo or video. The electrical processing circuit may be built in to the sensor or it may be a separate unit configured to communicate with the sensor. The electrical processing circuit may be configured to compare a condition of a seal and/or mating hardware against pre-set criteria.

System and method for detecting a condition of a seal

A seal assembly for sealing between a first machine part and a second machine part. The first machine part has a housing groove with a side wall. The seal assembly includes a compression ring for being placed within the housing groove and a seal element for being placed within the housing groove. The seal element is energized by the compression ring and separates the compression ring from the side wall of the housing groove and the second machine part. The seal element has a seal bottom portion with a seal apex for contacting the second machine part, and a seal back portion for contacting the side wall of the housing groove. In a first position of the seal element the seal back portion extends axially inwardly from the side wall of the housing groove.

Seal assembly with energizer and seal element

A seal assembly, includes a seal element including at least one seal lip, a wiper element including a wiper lip, and a structural element attached to the seal element and the wiper element, the seal assembly being configured for functioning under pressure in an amount greater than 500 pounds per square inch.
